That's what I'm most paranoid about. Most of my friends who step foot in a chiro office then have to continue to go forever, and I am incredibly leery of this. I sure would love to be pain free though, especially for delivery so that I can move freely without having pubic bone pain on top of contractions...

Well, I am 37 weeks pregnant - I had been pretty much pain free until yesterday (after I posted - go figure), but I think it is probably because of all the extra weight and the head descending, etc... I am thinking about going back exactly for the reasons you just cited - being able to move freely while laboring. So I guess I can't answer the question if this will be a post-natal thing too - hopefully not! In other news my co-workers threw me a shower today and I was overwhelmed with the largess - big items like a bouncer and a snap n' go as well as many adorable onesies, blankets, bottles, diapers, etc... We have all the "big" stuff that we were hoping for now!

We have all the "big" stuff that we were hoping for now! We are super close by due dates! I am just about 37 weeks as well. I hope you're able to find some pain relief before your labour. I was just having the worst time with that the other day, and I was like "as long as I'm feeling mostly normal/pain-free before my labour starts, I will be okay"... but otherwise, I think it might be really hard to stay drug-free, which is my goal! Anyway, glad to hear you got the things you needed at your baby shower! That's great. Such a relief to have everything, isn't it? We started accumulating stuff just a few weeks ago, but I was pretty organized so we're all done. Baby clothes and diapers are washed and ready to go. Just need to organize the space in his/her room. Yay.

I have a friend that had a baby 10 months ago, she had chiropractic throughout her pregnancy and she now goes to the chiropractor 2-3 times a week.

I'm 39 weeks today! I can't believe it. I think we have everything ready for the baby and for the home birth. I'm just hanging out waiting for something to happen, and I think it's making me nervous to have so much time on my hands. I'm feeling pretty good and would like to be going swimming, hiking, and biking every day, but I feel like I should take it easy and save my energy for labor in case it hits me at night and I haven't gotten any sleep. Any advice for these last days is welcome!

You should do whatever you want to do that makes you happy. I spent my last week napping.
Yay for the homestretch! I think we're on official mooooo-watch!

you should really spend a lot of time napping, but also make some time for stuff that isn't going to happen for the next few months. go out for dinner with your friends, or your partner, see some movies, get a haircut, a massage, you know, treat stuff. if you're going to do physical stuff, focus on stretching and low impact stuff. Walking you can do with a newborn (in fact, probably all you'll be doing!), swimming, yoga, and biking are a bit more tricky. as long as you're sleeping as much as you need, there's no reason you can't be out and about the rest of the time. doing yoga up until i gave birth was the best decision ever... i definitely felt like i benefited from being limber and active in the weeks before.

Whoa moooo! I can't believe you're that close.
I biked right up til the Magician was born, and actually thought about going for a ride while I was in labor but it was raining so I went for a walk instead. Looking back, it was one of the absolutely best decisions I made across 2 pregnancies... Especially since as LB said, it's not like I get a ton of time to hop on my bike now. As long as you're not going for crazy 50 mile rides or anything (and hey, I'm sure that works for someone out there), I think it's worth thr possible slight energy trade off to have thr mental health benefit of getting some exercise.
Other things I liked doing at the end of pregnancy: hanging out at coffee shops, knitting, going to movies, eating at restaurants, going to the beach, just hanging out with my partner (and this time, my older kid). All the stuff that gets more complicated when you have an infant. My least favorite thing to do was hang out and wait for labor to start. That's mostly what I did with E and it made me nutso.

I've accudentally disovered something that seems to have completely gotten rid of my pain. I've been sleeping sitting up due to allergy (I think) induced cough/cold, and suddenly I'm having no pain. It's been wonderful.
I just had a baby shower this past Sunday... didn't really need a shower but one of my friends just likes to throw parties. :-p Anyway, I think we got enough Target gift cards/money to get a car seat and hopefully a booster seat type high chair as well.
Midwife appt today... going to ask her to listen to my lungs to see if they sound bad so I can know if I should go see a doc - I am SO paranoid about getting pneumonia/bronchitis. I feel like I shouldn't get coughs as often as I do.

I think, looking back on what I did this pregnancy, that using your time to do light exercise (walking, biking, swimming, yoga) is a really good idea. You'll sleep better if you keep your activity level up, you'll probably feel better overall, and you will stave off a little of the inevitable loss in fitness that will come with the baby. You lose fitness really quickly when you stop exercising and you'll probably not do that much movement for at least a few weeks after the baby comes, so why jumpstart that downhill process?

So exciting, you ladies are so close!
I started going to the chiropractor in my third trimester, and went twice a week in my last few weeks since it is supposed to help align you for an easier labor. I had a great labor so maybe it worked?! (I did a lot of acupuncture too). I still go every 3-4 weeks -- carrying a baby/car seat/side-lying nursing aren't kind to the back! I recommend a visit as soon as you can after the birth to un-mess you up, then as needed. I'm finding that now I can go longer and longer without needing a visit while still feeling good, and hoping to taper down to every few months. Being a mom is HARD on your body, though, no joke! I thought I'd give birth and be back to normal in six weeks! Hah.

Oh my god, my water broke! Nothing else is happening yet and my midwife wants me to sleep, which sounds impossible since we're so nervous and excited. Wish me luck guys!
