Running into the living room without a diaper on, peeing on the wood floor, and then playing in it is not funny. (Ok, it's a little funny except the part where she put her hands in her mouth.)

I was making dinner and everything was going fine. Suddenly, R was pants-less and had poop on his foot. I went on a poop-hunt and when I came back, B had turned all the burners up to high and dinner was burned. *facepalm*

Oh, man that is a good one. That sucks so bad! Did you find the poo?

I sure did!

My forking mother in law, who has been asked to clean up her house for the past 15 months left a poison mouse trap out that Malka crawled over and stuck both her hands through while we were over for father's day lunch.

That is horrible. Is Malka alright?

She's fine, we saw it quickly and washed her off well. But we're not hanging out there anymore!

That is crazy! Poor Malka! So lucky you caught it fast!

I'm glad malka is okay. Just today we were out walking and my partner said look at all these people that trust their babies with the grandparents. I was like, yeah, that IS WEIRD. it's amazing we survived.

I really don't know how my husband and his brother survived. I understand things have devolved since he was a kid, but their house is really frighteningly dirty and they never have real food.

I hear you on the dirty house thing. I had to get a court order to prevent Malcolm from going to his grandparents house with his dad. There was sewage dripping from the pipe coming from the toilet onto the kitchen table when I was there once for dinner. And no one thought it was a big deal....

That is really awful, you shouldn't have to worry about your kids with their grandparents. My MIL cleared a circle in her living room that is basically safe for the babies (mine and my BIL's who is the same age). She even vacuumed it. But the kids obviously are mobile and they get into stuff outside the circle. The poison trap was just the last straw for the day.

Oh god. I deal with this with my mother. A few weeks ago she invited us over but said we would have to visit outside because the house was too dirty. Um, then maybe you shouldn't have company? Maybe you should spend the day cleaning instead?

I definitely have relatives whose houses I wouldn't want to take the kids to for health/safety reasons. All my family lives on the opposite coast though, so it hasn't been an issue yet. I dread having to be like oh we'd visit you but I'm afraid my kid would find something to horribly injure himself on and/or contract some sort of plague.

My vent for the day: I really don't want to hear the phrase "but I'm still hungry" whined one more time today, especially not when lunch is still on the table.

Stop biting my tit.

LittleBodhi ALWAYS does this. More with dinner than lunch though. He much prefers snack-y type foods over meals, even though I make sure to keep some components of his dinner separate so it's not all touching. Seriously, kids, why do you have to do this?!

Oh yeah... We have this conversation at dinner often too. Last night we had black bean burgers and baked fries and after all the fries were gone he was seriously sobbing about how hungry he was. With 90% of his burger still on his plate. Guy, I think I know why you're still hungry!

Today so far he's had 3 slices of toast with earth balance and nooch, a bowl of oatmeal with peanut butter and jelly, 2 pluots, 2 nectarines, 1/2 c of cashews, 8oz almond milk, half a black beam burger and half of a sourdough bun with ketchup. It seems like he has eaten a ton of food but seriously the first thing he said to me after nap was okay, can I have something else to eat now?

Next vent. I broke out my pre-preg swimsuit, and it is making me sad sad sad. It technically fits, except that my boobs are busting out indecently in the front and sides and the bottom is sagging. And I am not even going to talk about my mid-section. I guess I'm wearing my maternity suit for a bit longer.

He seems like he is growing really fast. The last pictures you've posted of him, he definitely seems to be getting tall. Perhaps that is why he is so hungry?

I haven't even tried. I'm wearing my maternity suit and still looking six months pregnant in it. But you know what? We're still gonna have an awesome time at the beach! The ocean doesn't care about our bellies!

Yeah we are! BEACH! Wooo!

The water was so freaking perfect on Friday, and there is vegan ice-cream on the boardwalk and lots of vegan options in the town itself. Yay beach with awesome vegan friends!

I am so jealous of your beaching Ariann and Tofulish! I have not even attempted to find a bathing suit. It was bikinis pre pregnancy and that will probably never ever happen again. Or at least not for a long time.
