Sashi, if you were ever up for it, I could meet you at Metropark station (its direct from NY Penn) and drive you to Asbury and then back. Its a really quick and easy trip.
Also you look awesome.

Also you look awesome. You're too sweet. I think it might be a little more complicated to get to nj by myself now. Ada outgrew the infant carseat so there's really no way for me to get her, big car seat, beach stuff, etc. on the subway then train. I would have loved to though!

Next vent. I broke out my pre-preg swimsuit, and it is making me sad sad sad. It technically fits, except that my boobs are busting out indecently in the front and sides and the bottom is sagging. And I am not even going to talk about my mid-section. I guess I'm wearing my maternity suit for a bit longer. I haven't even tried. I'm wearing my maternity suit and still looking six months pregnant in it. But you know what? We're still gonna have an awesome time at the beach! The ocean doesn't care about our bellies! I got 2 awesome "slimming" Mad Men type bathing suits for cheap...one at the Clifton Target and one at the Secaucus Walmart. I still have my baby gut but I feel confident in them which is nice. If only they would hide my monsterous thighs though.

I need to get a new swimsuit too. I've been using the same string bikini forever, because it fits whether or not I have an enormous baby belly. I don't care if the whole world sees my stretch marks, so it hasn't been a big deal so far, but I would like something that isn't so easy for the kids to tug off while I take them to the pool. Sigh. I would really rather not spend money on a swimsuit, but then at least I can take the kids swimming again, when we're ready.

is jealous of anyone going swimming....bladder issues suck asparagus.
In other news, Freya awakens for the fifth time in 2 1/2 hours (and some 12ish minutes after the last go-around). I say to my husband "can you go with her for like 5 minutes or so?" "Um, yeah, I'm right in the middle of something here (on the computer), so I really can't". Then I killed him. I figure I only need one mother on the jury and I'm home free.

I'll organize the parade after your acquittal. So sorry about your bladder issues.
Sashi, I can believe she's outgrown her car seat, she is so tall and beautiful these days! Maybe we can do another meet-up over the summer!
JENNA, you look super-cute in your swimsuit - where did you get the black one from - it is adorable!

Hey guys? That thing about not trashing our partners in here still stands. Keep your trash talking to the child variety please.

Sorry!
I do think though that it is nice to have an anonymous place to vent. Most people are under a lot of pressure not to ever say anything bad about their spouses in real life, because those sorts of things come back to bite you in the asparagus, and it can feel like opening yourself to a lot of judgement about your marriage, even though sometimes talking about stuff can really give you a fresh perspective.
I vented about my partner in the Relationships and Children thread, and I got some great advice and comfort. I realized that I'd been working on my own ability to try to be more accepting, but that my husband had gotten into an apology rut where he just apologized reflexively but didn't really change anything, so we were really stuck. We had a great conversation, and he has been stepping up so much. Sometimes a laugh and some commiseration goes a long way to shifting perspectives.

I mostly agree, tofulish. I just think it's important to think of how you'd feel to see a group of guys joking about killing their wives....
Glad the other thread has helped you and I hope everyone keeps their partner issues to that thread, in a constructive way.
Refinnej, I know you were just kidding, definitely not trying to single you out, just wanted to get the thread back on track. I think it's super important to make dads feel just as comfortable in the playground as we do <3

Awww! Thanks! That was the one from Target. It has a horrible name on it like "Assets". It was worth it though.

In Monday I took Grey to the doctor to check his ears, that was his last day on antibiotics. He still had fluid, but the infection was gone. She said to keep a very close eye on him. I took him back today, the fluid is still there and they are inflamed, no infection yet. I get to take him back n Monday. I really, really, really don't want him to have his third ear infection in a row right before vacation. I mean, I don't want him to have one ever, but the last course of antibiotics made him super clingy and he didnt want to eat solids, just breast milk. I also don't want to keep giving him antibiotics, it seems like so much for his poor guts to handle. Further, I am worried that this is going to be a trend and he is going to need tubes. And I feel like if he needs tubes, let's just do it. I don't want him to keep being in pain.

That suit is by Spanxx and costs $188 on their website and $49 or something at Target. Surprise, surprise, it is all sold out online and in stores. It is supercute and looks great on you!

Awesome vegan kiddie party with vegan cake, Cinnamon Snail goodies and our favorite vegan peeps to hang out with, and you throw a screaming tantrum that stops the minute we get into the car. And now you won't sleep. Go to sleep so we can at least catch the tail of CupcakeFest
I don't get it. And I am disappointed not to have gotten to hang out with my friends.
Also, my husband is going to say "oh its so great you guys had fun today!" Its not fun to hang out with a screaming baby! If it was, you'd be doing it.

phew... we had a playdate at my friend's house with 4 toddlers and one baby. these kids have been together since they were about 6 months old, so they are really very close to each other. unfortunately that means they are VERY relaxed at this particular friend's house. normally this is good. it's not often that you can have 4 two year old's running around together without close supervision, but the insane amount of (non-physically dangerous) chaos that was created today was MIND BOGGLING.
one is potty trained, one is in the process (mine) and one is very much opposed but a little nudist all the same. and the kiddy pool was out. which led, yep, to someone pooping in the pool. i am trying very hard not to think about how much water was drunk and/or splashed in faces/on me before the turd was discovered. all my beach toys happened to be in the pool too, which means they are all still at my friend's house, on sanitize in her dishwasher. (i'm fairly certain it wasn't tzipi who pooped, as she has been gorging on blueberries for 3 days straight and has had the purple poop to prove it. and she was wearing a swim suit bottom)
there was tons of amazing food, and everyone ate well, but there were half melted popsicles, half-eaten pieces of fruit, half-empty bowls of food and cups of juice every where. i mean, there's usually a bunch of food related mess, but this was somewhat unreal. tzipi kept doing this thing where she would ask for something, chew it up and walk around with it in her mouth, then spit in out on my hand or plate.
and tzipi managed to pee her pants twice. once on the patio, once on the sidewalk. she was very staunchly anti diaper today, but she's really not getting the pee thing. oh, and they found the markers, so they are all different colours now.
sigh. i am REALLY tired now.
