I've been vegan for 6+ years so you think I would know this but I could use some tips and reminders. I am 14 weeks pregnant and a couple times throughout the day that I'm hungry but not sure what to eat. I am much more attracted to food now than I was a few weeks ago but I still am not into all foods. I guess my diet has been complete and sufficient for my non-pregnant body until now but it seems that it may not be enough for the pregnant me.

Does anyone have any suggestions of easy, little-to-no prep snacks to have on hand to snack on between meals? Healthy is a plus and high caloric foods are a-ok as I lost a few pounds with the morning sickness. Thanks in advance!

I did a lot of nuts and trail mix while pregnant. And peanut butter and banana sandwiches!

I needed FIBER for pregnancy lol make sure that gets in there, snacks are probably an easy way to do it. Roasted chickpeas are good for crunchy, or garlic spice or wasabi peas if you like that kind of thing. Tostones (plaintain chips)

I had no problem finding food to eat while pregnant! I wish that I had not eaten so much now as it's difficult to lose the baby weight. I loved chips, bread, pretzels, nuts, or fruits for snacks. Hummus and bagel chips were usually really good. A place near my work sells these really tasty kale chips that I splurged on sometimes. For some reason I was really attracted to tofurky pepperoni pizzas any time of day.

Also, clif body builder bars are a protein rich treat as well as primal strips.

I'm about as far along as you are.

Right now, I'll snack on sesame sticks, tamari almonds, and I always keep larabars around (love the lemon pound cake flavor!), dried figs, carrot sticks, and I'll put sun butter on crackers and eat those. I've been very tired this pregnancy so it is nice for me to have some convenient foods.

id say hummus and cut up vegs or crackers or something.
hummus is full of so many good things and lots of protein plus it can be filling

How about a can of Amy's soup (I like the lentil and the minestrone) with some crackers or tortilla chips? It would only take a few minutes to heat up.

Things I kept in my desk at work: nuts (especially peanuts for the protein and almonds for the calcium), unsweetened applesauce, soy milk, tomato soup, whole wheat crackers, seitan or soy jerky, and peanut butter. Avocados are great, too.

Oatmeal (sometimes with nut butter mixed in) was my lifesaver while pregnant.

I am obsessed with low maintenance snacks and easy meals! We aren't expecting, but we are snack obsessed :)
These are some of the things we like to have on hand.

- sliced apples + nut butter
- trader joe's lavash with avocado, lime juice, sea salt & hot sauce
- trader joe's lavash with sunflower cheese, tomatoes (baked) topped with arugula
- chickpea salad (as a dip for sliced cucumbers)
- oatmeal with unsweetened applesauce
- smoothies with frozen fruit (chocolate/banana, chocolate/PB, berry/oats, pineapple/banana)
- carrots + goddess dressing
- popcorn with coconut oil + nooch
