Was there some sign that you had, before you missed a period, where you suspected or knew you were pregnant?

Well!

I suspected it when I was repulsed by coffee and alcohol, and I just felt...different. This was about a week before I could use the early tests, I think.

I felt really thirsty and tired. It didn't make me suspect I was pregnant, but in retrospect I realized those were early symptoms.

unfortunately, most of my symptoms were also things i experienced right before my period. so, i never felt super sure until i took a test. if i had to pick something though, i think being unbelievably fatigued was my biggest tip off both times.

this thread makes me suspicious and excited!!!

This!

Usually my boobs only hurt for a couple of days at some point before my period. But before I found out I was pregnant they were hurting way more than usual. Pretty much from when I ovulated and everyday after. Oh, I was also charting and saw that my temperatures were elevated for a couple of more days than usual. Up until I took the test though I was still convinced I was going to get my period because my other symptoms were my usual pms symptoms.

I was falling asleep at work. My boobs hurt like crazy. Foods made me nauseous. I had to pee all the time. The second time I was more perceptive, but the first time I was almost 2 months before I finally took a test.

I have crossed fingers for good news!

A few days or so before I should get my period I get a quick little dizzy spell and then a few days later when I think implantation should be happening I get a sharp pain in my side.

I also always want chocolate before my period and will always buy some at the store right before I get it without realizing what i'm doing until my period comes. When I was pregnant with Reno and the one I lost this year I buy pickles. I'm dead serious. I replace chocolate with pickles!

My breasts ached and my clothes started to get a little tight. I didn't realize I was pregnant until I was 8 weeks, 5 days.

Mine were all the same symptoms I'd get with a really late period: sore boobs, heavy bloated feeling in my abdomen, tired, etc. I took one test and it was negative. Then a few days later I had what felt kind of like mittelschmerz and some light spotting, thought it was my period starting but then nothing else happened. Took another test a few days after that and that one was positive. Looking back, the spotting/pain was implantation.

(Eep! So excited!)

Nope. I was actually certain I _wasn't_ pregnant, because we had had sex exactly ONCE that cycle. I was stressed out from school, had a back injury, was busy with holiday stuff, and then we were visiting family and sleeping on an extremely creaky and uncomfortable sofa bed.

I wasn't even going to take a test that cycle, but the day before I tested, I hosted a baby shower for a friend. We'd been trying to conceive at the same time, and here she was about to have her baby, and me still not pregnant. That's the sort of thing I was getting pretty bitter about around that time and I expected to feel really bitter at her baby shower. But I didn't, I felt fine, and when I was reflecting on it the next day, I thought "oh well, you know what? I'm not pregnant. It's not a big deal. I'll take a test and be done with this drama for this cycle and life will go on."

So naturally the test was positive, ha ha.

My first actual symptom was breast tenderness (like WHOA) and that didn't start til a week or two later.

In my case, I was revolted by wine, cheese, and bacon (my favorites at the time). And then I was at work calculating something by a calendar and realized I hadn't gotten my period. I worked retail so I ran down to CVS and bought a test. I then found out I was pregnant with chatter. My boobs hurt and I wanted to throw up on everyone in the weeks after.

I had a bit of tummy trouble, but I mostly felt ridiculously exhausted - comparable to when I had mono as an undergrad, which is sayin' summat - even before I missed my first period. This was the case with all three of my children, so I learned to recognize it with my subsequent pregnancies. I would also enter a mercifully brief, strobe-like hungry>queasy>hungry>queasy cycle right around the time I realized "Hey, my period is late!" (I'm clever like that).

I didn't notice any symptoms until about two weeks after I had a positive test. I took the test on day 27 or 28 of my cycle, but I was irregular so I had no idea if I was late, or what. During week 6 I started to get shooting boob pain and nausea soon after.

So, how are you feeling, Tofulish????

I'm kind of surprised that no one has answered, "When I had a baby...in my pants!"

With my first pregnancy, I didn't notice much of anything until my period was late. My boobs were pretty sore, but I used to get that right before my period, too.
With my second pregnancy, my period was late (but my cycle was still really wonky, so that wasn't a sure sign of anything) and I was nauseous and EXHAUSTED.

I've been having these bouts of nausea that aren't usual for me. No food aversions or craving and everything else could be PMS stuff. I really don't want to jinx this and I'm scared that this is just PMS, but I've no idea what this nausea is - and of course the internet has said that nausea starts at 4 weeks and we'd be max 2 weeks in. So maybe its something else entirely.

We are trying not to get our hopes up, but we're both praying this is it. Thank you so much for sharing (I love the people on the PPK)

it could be- i had horrid morning sickness, and i used to drink a big pot of strong earl grey with soymilk every morning ,and at about two weeks after conception, before i even thought i could be pregnant, i was brewing my tea and the smell just sickened me. it didn't occur to me i might be pregnant, even though within days, my breasts hurt and ached. since we had tried and failed before, i didn't beleive i might actually be pregnant, although it did cross my mind. I will say that although my breasts usually get tender before my period, and the way they hurt was just different then anything i had ever felt before.

i'm hoping you find out what you want to find out, Tofulish.

I was charting at the time, and had 18 high temperatures after ovulation.

I didn't feel much of anything until about two weeks after I took a pregnancy test. Then it was crazy-sore breasts, and total exhaustion. Rob and I were commuting together at the time, and I used to fall asleep in the car on the way to work and on the way home.

As for nausea, I never had it before my period...until AFTER Westley was born. Now it's one of my big PMS symptoms.

Oh yeah, and my pants were tight around the waist. I just thought I was extra bloated or maybe had gained a few pounds from being so tired. When I finally took a test, I was 8 or 9 weeks pregnant and had become nauseous. My periods were so irregular at that time that I hadn't really "missed" a period.

My fingers are crossed for you, Tofulish!!! For a tofu-behbeh!!!

I was sick to my stomach pretty quickly after conception. I'd say 2 wks. Plus, smells drove me nuts.
