SO back to my previous question... will my charts start to look normal while on Metformin?

I don't know why though, you'd think that if it made you ovulate you'd still have the same temp changes etc. And chiveggie, if they wash the sperm it tends to improve motility, so that could be a pretty easy fix.

Me: Hey, Mr. Crabby, I'm ovulating, so we should have sex tonight.* Mr. Crabby: Are you forking kidding me? Are you serious? Me: Yes! Mr. Crabby: Oh, for the love of god, NOOO! Me: *making a bunch of really lewd gestures and giggling* Mr. Crabby: I want 3 weeks off after tonight! Me: Only if I get pregnant. P.S. If the strip says I'm still ovulating tomorrow, you'll have to put out tomorrow, too! Mr. Crabby: You have no idea how hard this is for me!!
I was laughing so hard. Mr. Crabby is so not pleased. *cue porn music*
* Yes, I know it's probably too late for it to count by now, but one more time, just in case. ;D

* Yes, I know it's probably too late for it to count by now, but one more time, just in case. ;D I just laughed hysterically. I also realize that in this past month while I was on birth control we had sex maybe 5 times total, although a lot of that I think was related to the fact that birth control really seems to diminish my sex drive. and AH- yup, could be worse. I only need one of those swimmers to make it to the right spot. We'll see what happens. Tofulish - I have no idea what washing sperm means, but I suppose I'll learn all about that stuff in another month or two if we need to move on to an RE doctor.

AlwaysHungry wrote: I went to my family doc this morning and told him about the expected wait to get into the clinic, and asked if he'd be willing to write me the script for Metformin or possibly start on some diagnostics at least so that all the ground work is done when I finally get into the clinic. He was more than happy to help me! He wrote me a script for Metformin, rx'd a pelvic ultrasound, and GAVE me a brand new glucometer! He was so nice and completely understanding. He said he'll cross his fingers that I'm pregnant before the clinic calls. So, follow-up to this: I'm 2 weeks on Metformin with no adverse effects except the occasional symptomatic low blood glucose (and I can tell when I'm low) but no big deal. My temp chart is completely meaningless, but oh well, whatever, we'll figure that out in time. I don't know whether I mentioned that I had asked my family MD, given that there's up to 8 months wait for me to get in to the fertility clinic, if there was any way to expedite the whole treatment process. By that I meant I wanted to go ahead with any additional bloodwork or visual diagnostics he anticipated the clinic would want to perform so that when I finally get in there's less delay in treatment. So in addition to ordering the metformin and the pelvic US he said he'd gladly call the clinic on my behalf, but he didn't expect he'd have any kind of influence in having my consult priorized. Anyway... interesting thing happened today: I got a message on my home machine this morning from my first-choice doc's receptionist to please call her extension at the clinic. Mr. AH texted me the same (he heard the message, I was at work), but the clinic closed at 1pm for the long weekend and I didn't have a chance to call till 1:15. So. I'm intrigued. But not getting my hopes up.

AH: so glad you have an appointment set!
I'm on day 2 of clomid today. another two weeks to go in and have my hormone levels checked to see if it is helping, and to consult with my doctor about my husbands test results.

had my first acupuncture session today. I'm amazed at how in depth the consult was before any needles appeared. My OB didn't ask me half the questions the acupuncturist did. If nothing else it was a great 20-30 minutes of meditation.

Anyone want a completely unopened 40 gm tube of Pre-Seed with nine applicators? I got pregnant before I had a chance to try it, but I know many people swear by the stuff.

I got my period this morning. I knew it was coming because I had insane PMS (I was overly sensitive about things and really sleepy) and my temperature dropped this morning, but I'm still sad. I have a short luteal phase at the moment. The good news is Raygold has been sleeping a lot better and only nurses 3-5 times a night now, so maybe my cycle will straighten out soon.
I'm also really crabby because my husband phoned his dad for his birthday this weekend and his dad said we really need to get crackin' if we still want to have 6 kids. FORK YOU, IN-LAWS. YOU ARE A BUNCH OF INSENSITIVE SHIITAKEHEADS. (It's not like they get to see my kids anyway, seeing as they got us in trouble with our health centre 2 years ago and are disgustingly smug about it and totally not sorry.)
See? See how I'm ranting? I was like this all weekend, that's how I knew my period was coming. Hormones make me so sensitive.
I am so crazy about getting pregnant, I am ready to do all kinds of boom-shaka-laka chants around the campfire and drink magical fertility tonics and draw fertility talismen all over my body.

Sorry that this cycle didn't work out CC. At least Mr. Crabby gets some time off :)
I'm in that waiting to ovulate time. I'm back to trying LH test strips to see if they'll help me predict things. My OB just said try every other day until I come in to have blood work on day 21, but my acupuncturist said might as well try to narrow things down, plus if I can pinpoint it, she wants me to come back again within a few days after ovulating. We'll see what happens. I don't know if they tested my LH levels last time to know if they will be off due to my long cycles. So many questions to ask.

I'm in the midst of the dreaded 'two week wait' right now. I keep vacillating between hopeful and not. Every symptom is making me CRAZY, is it PMS? Is it pregnancy? ARGH.
The good news is, my chart this cycle is way more normal than it has been since my period started back nine months ago. Like, I had a fairly stable temp pre-ovulation and a definite and sustained temp rise at ovulation that makes sense time-wise when compared to my last cycle's length, so for once I'm pretty confident on when I actually ovulated and how long my luteal phase is. So even if it's a no this cycle, I feel more prepared going forward.
In the meantime, I'm just trying to stop analyzing every little thing my body is doing.

Thanks you guys! And chiveggie - good luck!
I'm 10 dpo right now, and making myself wait 4 more days before I test (if my period doesn't start before then, of course). I can wait that long, right? That 20 pack of cheap tests I bought online are calling my name with their evil siren song.

thanks ladies. The wait is so awful poopie! Good luck making it that long without testing. My wait will be short this time because I had blood work today and have to go in again in a week for a follow-up visit to see if the clomid did what it should've done. They said they'd do a pregnancy test then if I hadn't started my period. I asked if it mattered that according to my chart I ovulated on day 18 instead of 14, but they still want me to come in on day 28 regardless of what info I have. If my temperature is correct, this will be the earliest I've ever ovulated by 8 days.

Good luck chiveggie! I'm on day 13 right now and I've managed to not test yet. My average luteal phase is 13 days, but that's only based on like my last three cycles so it might not be super accurate. In theory my period would start tomorrow or the next day, and I'm thinking about just waiting until Monday to test if it hasn't started by then. My temperature rose on Wednesday and has stayed high since then, so I'm hoping that's a good sign.
