Day 42 after my first period and I still haven't ovulated! :/ I had a bad UTI 2 weeks ago and am still recovering, though, so we had to stop scoodilypoopin' until my urethra chills the heck out. I was fine for most of the last few days, but today it started feeling gimpy again.

shall I wade in? Went off the pill. Period has mysteriously not appeared after a couple weeks off, but we were on vacation sleeping with the kid and not canoodling so definitely not pregnant, so, getting a little worried there.

eta: immediate regret for publicizing conception intentions, oh well

Got my period, oh well, and it's like 3 periods in one. I feel kind of dumb for feeling pretty bummed about it, because it was only the first attempted cycle, and I am not sure if it was even a real cycle, because it's been many, many weeks since I last got a period, so I don't even know what was going on. Bought one of those ovulation kits from the drug store. On to round 2!

I have only had one period since I had Vax, which was about 7-ish weeks ago. I've been charting and my temps have been all over the place. I swear, my cervix has been SHOW on and off for weeks now.

AND -- TMI -- after I had that UTI last month, I didn't know what the fizzle was wrong with me for weeks and finally saw the doc and he thinks it's a yeast infection -- I've never had one before and I didn't have any discharge or itching, but it feels like I've been gang-banged (without the satisfaction which I assume comes with a good gang-bangin') and kicked in the crotch -- the doc gave me a 1-day treatment and I'm supposed to come back Thursday for a swab if symptoms don't clear up. It's been 3-1/2 days since I did the treatment and I don't really feel any better -- I did the first day and now am back to having gangbanger's crotch. This is so annoying and painful, I can't even sit down.

Oh no crabby that sounds horrible. I'd go back if you are still in pain. I get thrush every now and again and only pessaries seem to work every time. The tablets are hit and miss for me. In my ttc news, my cycles are starting to make sense to me and this us our first month of trying properly (I.e trying to have sex around ovulation rather than just not using contraception. Fingers crossed!

OMG, I phoned to get a swab and they can't see me until next week!!! And the lady was so catty, she said it would be 3 weeks down south so I shouldn't complain. UGH!!

So I am going to go out and get a 3-day treatment to see if that works because the 1-day pessary sure didn't (I felt better the first day, but that was it). I figure I might as well try something, since they can't see me before that.

I'm taking vitamins, eating soy yoghurt, I've changed my diet and cut out all sugar, processed flour, alcohol, etc. I am going nuts. I've had 5 weeks of problems in my netherregions and am going crazy!!

Sorry, just venting!

UGH, they don't have anything other than 1-day treatments! So I made a phone appointment with the doctor and am going to beg him for help because I can't deal with this for another week.

So sorry you are feeling terrible Crabby! If your doctor doesn't get back with you do they have things like Urgent Care centers for walk-in appointments where you are?

Yuck, crabby. Can they prescribe you diflucan over the phone? Might be a simpler fix.

The doctor got me an appointment with the nurse for Thursday (with the same nurse the receptionist said couldn't do swabs). He said to swab to find out what it is before treating again just to be sure. (It's not an STD, so the only other thing I can think of would be BV.)

I don't think they have walk-in centres here other than A&E, who probably wouldn't take me (and is 2 or 3 hours away by public transport).

In the meantime, I'm doing the ol' yoghurt vag trick to ease the symptoms.

Eurgh how awful. It's weirdsurprising to me that you didn't get a swab straight away as you have never had thrush before. I once had a crazy allergy for weeks that felt like thrush but wasn't. I had to switch to unfragranced shower gel and rinse my washing a few times each load. That fixed it eventually. I haven't heard of a 1 day pessary, the ones I am used to work for 7 days I think. Very occasionally it needs a second dose after the week is up. Hope you feel better soon!

I'm surprised they didn't swab me at first, either. I got swabbed last week and then the lab wouldn't test it because the paperwork was wrong. I got swabbed again yesterday and the nurse said they only do high swabs now if they think you have PID or and STD and otherwise just treat you based on what it looks like it might be after an exam (what the fizzle?!). The nurse said she didn't think I had PID and that I didn't have a yeast infection (just by looking and feeling around -- good thing I'm roomier after having 3 kids because, man, she was all over and up in my lady holiday), but wrote PID on the paperwork and wrote me a prescription for PID just in case.

Then the pharmacy didn't have the antibiotics and I had to send my husband around later in the day. And no booze for the next 16 days because of the antibiotics -- I'm going to miss the local real ale festival! ;p

I think it's weird that they are so eager and willing to swab you for STDs (she said it might be Chlamydia because my discharge is really bloody now and it's not my period and I really doubt my husband is cheating on me, but I let her do the test because whatever), but then refuse to swab you for BV or thrush.

Maybe because thrush/BV are easily identified on exam? I don't know. I've never been swabbed specifically for a yeast infection, although I told my midwife at my last pap that I thought I had a yeast infection, she said she didn't think so on exam, and then it turned out they tested my sample for yeast along with the pap (I don't think she ordered it, it's just something that turns up when they look under the microscope) and of course, I had it.

How would they treat BV? Antibiotics also? PID seems like a weird diagnosis, doesn't it? Could BV lead to PID (serious question, mooo, do you know?)?

BV can totally lead to PID and they are treated the same (although you get twice the antibiotics for PID), I just think it's weird that they're diagnosing BV and thrush with the eyeball method when the NHS website even says to get a swab.

Mind you, at this point, I'm just glad the nurse did the right paperwork and the lab is actually going to test the swab.

My lady holiday seems to be feeling better today, although I am SO. ITCHY. (Much better than feeling like I just got gangbanged, mind you. I was actually crying instead of crabbing earlier this week, I was so fed up with not being able to sit and frustrated that the lab didn't do the first swab.)

Your poor vag, crabby! Yes, BV can lead to PID. Treatment for PID is a combination of the antibiotics used to treat chlamydia, gonorrhea, and BV. I hope you feel better soon!

Oh Crabby, so glad you feel better! Even reading your posts makes me wince, though I have to admit chuckling at your descriptions.

Wishing you a happy, healthy non-gangbanged crabby lady holiday <3

They only gave me Flagyl for mine. The ol' lady holiday was feeling better yesterday, but not so great today. Not sure when the results of the swab will be in. They said to phone next week, but I'm going to phone this afternoon just in case they are in early. It's ridiculous because a friend of mine in the US is a doctor and says she can do a wet mount in 10 minutes and here I am waiting for weeks.... ;p

(And thanks for the sympathy, guys, this has been a really tough 6-1/2 weeks!!!)

And the lab results came back as "no definitive result" and no one can tell me what it means and the nurse is supposed to call me Monday afternoon because apparently only a nurse can talk to me and there are none in today, which means they'll probably swab me again later next week (and give me a pap smear maybe if I beg them) and I need to wait AGAIN to get an answer. I am going out of my head.

Okay, last post today, I promise. I phoned the well woman health clinic in a panic and a doctor phoned me back after looking at my lab results and she said they were neg for yeast and BV and to wait to see the result of my chlamydia test and if that is negative then to see a gynecologist. So either my husband is cheating on me (how, I have no idea, since we are both home all the time) or I have some mystery disease. This is so scary.

Oh man Crabby, I am so sorry. I hope you find an answer that stops the pain and gives you back a happy ladyholiday again!

Is this from the swab they took after they treated you for thrush though? So could that explain the inconclusive results? Oh dear it sounds terrible. I hope you get answers and treatment soon. *hugs*
