lordy, no kidding! she has pledged that this year will be the year that things turn around. i did the same turn around at that age, so i'm here to support her if she's serious. at least her math is almost all caught up to grade level by now and she's ready for the school year (so far as i know!!).

so much for a peaceful year! i was woken up at 0600 by elephants dancing, or something, it turns out my Messy Lovely managed to Lose.Her.Sneakers. and was pitching a fit because she has to go to school in the Ugly asparagus Running Shoes she begged me to buy and then never wore. Karma, she is a lovely bisque.

ermegerd! the great Sneaker Loss of 2013 aside, it looks like the Mean Girls are no longer in the kid's class, the Formerly Mean Teacher said something to her that acknowledged the bullying and tough situation she went through last year. As she said "this year there will be someone new in my corner" and this teacher is a real tough cookie who she respects very, very much. What a relief.
