I thought it might be useful to compile places that have vegan kids' meals or kid-friendly vegan options. Violet's still small enough to share with me, but I'm thinking about leaving her with my parents for a little bit and wanted to make a list of really easy options at places they are willing to eat that they can order for her. (She had her first kids' meal at Native Foods, though, and thought it was the best thing ever)
The following look like they should be vegan based on web research/nutritional info, but I'm I'm not positive:
Chipotle - kids' meal with juice, chips, 2 taco shells, and 3 ingredients
Panera - PB&J contains honey but I think you could use a different bread in their sandwiches. Can the side of yogurt be swapped for eg fruit? (I found this list of vegan breads: artisan french, ciabatta, country, plain focaccia, sesame semolina, sourdough, stone-milled rye, and three seed bread)
Taco Bell -kids meal with bean burrito (no cheese), cinnamon twists, and a drink
Pita Jungle (CA, AZ) - The kids' meals are very customizable in a way that everyone i went to brunch with who had older kids just love, but this makes it hard to tell exactly what's vegan (
http://www.pitajungle.com/menu/kids/ ) but based on their other charts the pita bread is fine. Hummus, lentils, and tofu sound like they might be ok for protein, and the veggies (possibly excluding spinach, depending), and the fruit and at least some of the carbs should be ok.
Red Robin - I think the Rad Robin burger with a Boca would be ok assuming the bun is (I can't seem to find definite info on this with a cursory googling), not sure about the spaghetti.
Souplantation/Sweet Tomatoes - $.99 kids meal with an adult. They have nice plastic divider trays and their nutrition guide has vegan listings (
http://www.souplantation.com/nutritiong ... egory_id=2 ) The heavy divider trays and ability to get a bunch of finger foods makes it, IME, a good toddler option. I don't think they even charged me for 1yo V.
Denny's - the pasta with marinara looks like it might be OK - can't find whether it's vegan but the pasta and marinara sauce contain no dairy or eggs. It doesn't specify what kind of bread it comes with, but it looks like it might have to be swapped with ciabatta (if that's possible) to avoid dairy.
NO KIDS MENU:
Noodles & Company doesn't have a kids' menu as far as I can tell (though they have about 6 vegan dishes)
Zpizza - kids eat free at some locations at least some day(s) of the week, but there's no specific menu. Not sure if it's easy to get a free slice of berkeley vegan or not.
NOT VEGAN:
Corner Bakery - the nutritional info reports that the marinara pasta and PB&J are vegetarian BUT CONTAIN MILK, boo
Baja Fresh - their kids menu contains a bean and cheese burrito (with rice and applesauce) but googling indicates that their soft tortillas for the burritos are not vegan for some reason. Maybe if you could get them to swap for a mini-bowl?
