Some days I feel like this.

For those who mentioned that their tots won't eat veggies, do they like pasta and tomato sauce? I lightly saute some red bell pepper, mushroom, onion and whatever else and then puree it into the tomato sauce. He loves it that way too, someone I know called this a "loaded tomato sauce." I don't put too much veggies where it changes the flavor of the sauce but just enough.

My boy after exactly 12 months still won't touch fresh fruit. I have been trying daily since May 2012. Still will not touch it and cries when I put it on his plate, he yells "GET IT OFF, GET IT OFF!"

Foods the Magician likes: tofu (preferably plain and uncooked), yogurt (particularly plain or vanilla), apples, sunflower butter & jam, olives, cooked carrots, ketchup, almonds, and sriracha. The other day he ate a peach and I was so excited that I actually bounced up and down a little.

And that is pretty much it. It kills me because E at his pickiest was never as picky as this kid seems to be by default.

sriracha! Ha!

F has just now these past maybe 3 weeks or so, starting trying new things. Now, she often doesn't eat a second bite, but hey. Last night, she tried a piece of veggie burger...the kind with visible vegetable in it even. I nearly fainted.

One of the kids I nanny for is going to have to get a feeding tube if he doesn't gain weight soon and today he basically has taken one bite of each thing I've offered him and thrown several things on the floor. Cool dude.

Anyone have any resources for how much sugar and junk toddlers should be eating? We got a lot less vigilant about it after she turned one and had her first cake. And now she pretty much eats refined sugar every day.

It's stressful! It's also stressful because he gets to eat things like ice cream and whatever else he wants all the time and then his twin sister throws a fit because SHE wants ice cream for lunch and she can't have any and then she has a 45 minute tantrum. Obviously his health itself is the scariest thing, but it's also just a logistical nightmare.

Man, that sounds way unfun, strawberryrock. I think the twins you nanny for are the same age as my kid and, yeah, she would completely flip her shiitake if someone else got to eat ice cream for lunch and she had to eat real food. Ugh.
