Hi all,
My omni sister is pregnant and asked for some easy protein-rich recipes since she's "not feeling the meat right now." She's cool with tofu and such, and I have some recipes I'm going to give her, but since I've never been pregnant I thought I'd ask you all what worked well for you. Thanks!

I don't concentrate specifically on protein, but I know in my first trimester, when I was sick, it actually made me feel better to eat something protein-rich at every meal.
Tofu, as you mentioned, tempeh, quinoa, seitan (field roast sausages are really good and easy, or homemade), brown rice protein in a smoothie, and beans or lentils are all good sources of protein.

Also, as a super easy snack for someone who might not be up to cooking: clif bars and the like. Or homemade energy bars!
Sticking to whole grains will also get her more protein. And of course, there's always smoothies + protein powder (I liked brown rice protein, but there are lots of options out there) when all else fails.

I'm a big fan of Joanna's nuggets: http://www.joannavaught.com/2009/08/27/nuggets/They're quick, easy, and pack quite a protein punch. You can also play with the spices a bit, in case you need something a bit blander for those first-trimester tummy issues...

I ate beans, tofu, tempeh, and whole grains, plus Clif Builder's Bars for occasional snacks. I regularly got over 100g of protein a day in that way - I had no intention of eating that much, but that seemed to be what it took to keep me satiated.

Hummus and Clif Bars. Oh and my love of burritos, but I don't know if she wants bean burritos. (Freezer burritos are awesome for those crazy first post-baby weeks too..)
Super Hummus by Nasoya has 8% of your daily protein value.
But I'm repeating what a lot of people said, just thought I'd chime in
