That is hilarious. Little boys and their fascination with their penises. A couple days ago my boys were having a bath, and Z (10 mo) saw Iz's penis (he's 5), and tried to tug on it. Boys are so funny!

this is probably not that weird, but there was a kid today on the bus who wanted his dad to pretend to cut his nails. He made him do each finger at least twice.

That is actually really adorable. What a great dad to indulge him!

So for a few months now, V's been able to smile on command for pictures etc. In general she has a beautiful smile. Lights up her face, and the room really. She opens her mouth to laugh, the dimples come out, and she looks gorgeous and full of life.

The deliberate smile, however.. well. I'll just post a picture and let it speak for itself.

Hahaha. That is most excellent.

One of Freya's recent quirks is that she likes to pat my belly (mostly just when nursing and it's exposed) and say "baby". Um...what? At first, I thought she was saying "boobie", but she says that really clearly and has a whole routine about milk and drinking and sides and yeah.

Oh my gosh. That face annak. It might not be that beautiful smile but it's ridiculously cute!

Ha! Has Freya been around any pregnant women lately?

So when I was still pregnant Ada had to always lift my shirt up and rub my belly. Especially when she was falling asleep for her nap. Now that I've had the baby she is obsessed with my belly button. The first few days after Alice was born she still thought there was still a baby in my belly. Then she just started requesting my belly button afte ri explained to her many times that Alice is the baby that was in my belly. So when I lie down with her for nap she must have my shirt up and her hand on my belly button. This has even replaced nursing before her nap.

I love V's forced smile! One of my sisters had the craziest smile-on-command smile and she didn't learn how to smile like a regular person for the camera until she was like 12. So we have school pictures with her aging, and the one thing that stays exactly the same is her totally bizarre smile.

Whoa, that is one seriously adorable smile. I love the whole crinkly-faced expression. Super cute!

When Violet counts, there tend to be 9 of everything. Even if she has to insert extra "8, 9, 8, 9, 8, 9"s into it or skip right to 8 and 9.

Generally, though, the V number line goes Two, Soar. Sive, shiitake, Eight, Nine.

Aww, I love her counting! That's so cute!

Zephyr has started doing Downward Dog. He'll be toddling along and then just stop. And BAM, it's yoga time! Of course, I never have a camera ready and he only holds it for like 3 seconds. Soooon.

Giles does the downward dog thing too - is it just a developmental stage? he did it at the beach the other day and the whole top of his head was covered in sand - too cute.

I think I recall seeing in the Dr. Sears baby book that it was a standard thing. Can't remember which month it was supposed to be but it was spot on with V.

The fun comes when they start nursing like that.

Awww, all these cute PPK babies do downward dog?! That's awesome. My first little one ... I don't recall him ever doing it, which is why it's so exciting for me when Z does it. So adorable!

Malka doing downward dog for the first time is actually one of my most precious memories of her because it was one of the first times I realized we could really communicate. After she did it once, I signed "more" to her and told her to do it again and she did! We did that over and over and over again and it was awesome.

We have this book called The Green Tractor that Ada used to read a lot. We haven't read it for a couple of months but all of the sudden last week she started saying "Watch out green tractor!" when she lays down for a nap. Every day. Then doesn't say anything else. I have no idea why.

Yesterday, Beet and Raygold come in the room with a box they'd nicked from our recycling pile. Special delivery from Parcelforce! I open it up. It's their underwear! That's when I notice they're not wearing any. ;p

I laughed so hard, they kept re-delivering the package. We had to tell them to stop after about 12 deliveries and put their underwear back on.

so after z tried to drink the shower and bath cleaner the other day, this morning i caught her eating dirt, so much that there was mud globbing out her mouth, so i washed her off and ten minutes later, she pukes heaps more mud (and breakfast). she really must have eaten a lot. why is she trying to eat all these awful things?

cc that is awesome! (and clever!)

Poor z! That must've been an awful lot of mud because kids eat that stuff all the time. Hope she's feeling better by now.

After some trouble with a pigeon attacking our (not pigeon sized) bird feeder, Freya is in love with the phrase "evil pigeon". Took me about 4 tries to figure that one out yesterday.

Dinner last night was avocado on rolls (Malka will now eat avocado!), leftover rice and beans from a restaurant meal, and cold cubed tofu (for her, not me). She spent half the meal sitting on my lap and eating happily. Then she took a handful of rice, got down on the floor and started skipping around the room chanting "Skip to my Lou Skip to my Lou!" and pausing every so often to nibble rice out of her hand.
