Every item of clothing you see in both of those pictures (and some you don't) are courtesy of the ever-stylish Ezra. My kid was *this close* to being dressed in a strange mix of too-small and too-large clothes, if it wasn't for the awesome flavabean <3
ETA: And he forking loves that dinosaur hoodie. He wants to wear it every day.

Will turned one yesterday, ahhh!!! We had a pretty quiet day... dinner at Qdoba, a cupcake at home, presents (which of course he liked the paper more than the gifts). We bought a little table and chair set at IKEA, which I was super excited about. Well, you can tell he's less than impressed by his new, tiny chair.

Completely adorarable! She really does look like she is feeling those bubbles in her soul!
So I have decided that photography will be my new hobby. I know less than nothing about it, but I want to be able take fabulous portraits of my child and family and of course the azaleas when they bloom every year. etc. I talked with the staff photographer here and told him my proposed budget for camera set-up (around $1200 give or take) and of course he has me really sold on something double my price range. Anybody here have a great camera that does really well with the whole automatic/auto focus type work but ALSO has good manual controls for when I actually want to handle things on my own? This guy recommended a Nikon D7000 ($900 camera body), a 18-200mm zoom lens ($850), and an external flash SB-910 ($550). You can buy the package on Amazon right now for $2000 because there are some rebates available until the end of Feb. I talked to a friend who is an amateur and they said that was an AWESOME set-up I should totally go for - I just am hesistant to spend that kind of cash when maybe something less high speed will still get me where I want to go. Any shutterbugs here with advice?

Thanks! We had so much fun <3
We have the Nikon D3100 ($500) and love it and the 7000 is the level above that and the pictures I've seen people take with it are great. I think its all about getting the best package you can afford. The 7000 pictures a friend of ours takes are amazing. That said, the downside is that its not very portable, so as you see, I end up taking cellphone pictures a lot because I don't want to schlep it everywhere...
I think there is a photographer's thread in here somewhere. There are quite a few great photogs on the PPK!

She is so beautiful and such a great kid. Clearly the last 6 years have been incredibly well spent.
I hope we get to hang out again one of these days.
