We took Ada on her first out of country vacation last week.

She looooved the sand. Every morning she would bring us her swim diaper and try to take her regular diaper off. Then she would say "sand! and bucket! and shovel! and water!". Most mornings my husband had to take her to the beach before I was ready because she just couldn't wait.

She looooved the ocean. Especially sitting and letting the water knock her around when it came in.

She looooved the pool.

She was one happy toddler!

sashi, that sounds like an amazing vacation. What a happy kid! And you look absolutely amazing.

i was thinking about the sibling thing recently because I took a photo of S that really reminded me of one of D - same room, same suit. So:

Sierra at 9 months old, and

Dahlia at 7 months old (with 2 out of 4 cats!). Wild.

This was all Raygold's random idea. He announced he wanted to be a butterfly or a fairy and could we please get the wings I kept in the hall? Sure!

At LAST. This is why we had kids, after all.

Also, we went on a hike. The boy walked for 3 pretty difficult miles without complaining more than once. (Although there was some vaguely confused "Why are we hiking?" sorts of stuff, it wasn't whiny at all.) Here he is about 2 miles in and 700 feet higher than when we started:

In the meantime, the little one rode most of the way, but took full advantage of the times we let him down to run around:

So many awesome pictures. Malka definitely tries to help with cleaning. It usually doesn't go very well, but she's getting pretty good at putting things in the trash when asked (she won't leave them in the trash, though).

Wow Sashi! She looks so happy. Also, it seems like just the other day that you were announcing that you were pregnant. Where does the time go? I think it's such a good idea to have a vacation together before the new baby comes.

Audrey, I think your girls look very different there. Tis funny because in some pics they S looks like the spittin' image of her sister.

See what happens when E gets his hair cut? All mature now and doing chores and hiking. M looks suddenly such the toddler instead of his chubby cheeked baby self. Sigh.

Mr Crabby took the photo while I was exercising, but knowing Beet, he probably was giving a speech. ;D He was a late talker, but once he started, he never stopped. The kid could talk the hind legs off a horse!

oh my goodness, the Emperor's new hair almost made me cry, what a change!
and Beet and Raygold the fairies are priceless!
Ada at the beach is adorable - when did she get so big and how awesome is her hair and wow Sashi you look amazing!
Dahlia and Sierra are both so beautiful, love the bonus cats in the baby-Dahlia photo too!
