Those are the cutest pictures ever! I love the boys playing in the tent, and Vax's smile is so great!

Love happy Vax!

Okay, my Norwegian husband is now listening to me sing (in my best manly voice) "ho ho ho Green Giant" and giving me that look of "what the hell", wondering if this is when the sleep deprivation is finally sending me to the happy place.

OK, it's just a teaser since once again I fail at putting pictures up. Gah.

So much cute! Audrey, she's got the best cheeks! Tofulish, Leela looks like she's the most fun little kid ever!

ETA: May as well put this all in the same post!

This is Zeph watching the birds outside. He LOVES them. He even chirps at them. (The balcony is about three feet high - we're on the bottom floor, so he can look straight out above the concrete that's in the photo. And our glass door is defective or something, not just dirty! It's getting replaced!)

The kids at the beach - this was fairly impromptu, hence the lack of appropriate beach clothing! (Zeph got totally soaked and sandy! Iz is pretty good at not getting messy when he doesn't have a change of clothes.)

He is soooooo cute! I just want to hug him!

(I got a little sad giving Beetroot a haircut when his hair had been so long and curly.)

L has such clear ideas about what she will and won't wear! I don't really feel like getting positional, so if she picks something, she gets to wear it, unless there is a strong safety reason (like long sleeves in the evenings for mosquitos). Sometimes I'll put her in something so nice for photos and then she wants to tear it off and run away. I do the monthly pictures for her in a nice outfit, and I get about 10 minutes to take my photo and then it has to come off. She is pretty reasonable and I can generally get her to understand stuff that is important, but I guess I fail at explaining why looking pretty is important (and she watches me fail at that every day!)

I sometimes feel like a crappy mom, because her hair is a mess and she's running around like a ragamuffin, but she has fun so yeah, whatever. Maybe one days she'll look at her albums and think "Wow mom, couldn't you have at least tried to make me look presentable?" But I'm hoping she looks at her grin and thinks "Man, I was a happy little kid."

The big one, who refused to eat a banana with breakfast until I suggested he put it on a rice cake:

And here they are, hanging out on the stoop.

Naw, it doesn't matter. You could get her all dolled up and she'd probably run around and do kid stuff and get messy again anyway. As long as she's happy. 8)

How does E look so grown up! Your children are so beautiful!

And Zeph's little secret smile is amazing - how wonderful that you captured it. And they look so happy and industrious at the beach!

love seeing all those amazing ppk boys too!
Tofulish, we have the same thing going on with Dahlia and her hair. We take happy candid shots of her and I think wow, that picture is perfect! but oh wait her hair is sticking out every which way. Eh I prefer it to these stiffly posed shots that, say, my sister-in-law takes of her kids where she's fussing and nagging at them to look perfect and they just look mehhh about it, if not miserable.

That is so funny Audrey! I always love your pictures of Dahlia and think she looks so pretty and well-put together. Maybe we're all just way too hard on ourselves!

HAHAHAHHA you let me know the day those words come out of her mouth. Call me up and tell me. For on that day, I shall eat my hat.
