I like the toy T-rex in that picture. I remember my childhood when I was playing some toy dinosaurs. Anyway, I don't have any image done and pasted by my children on the door of our refrigerator. I hope I can encourage them to do the same.

Taylor is now two and a half. she LOVES to paint. This was her first installment
Image

and then she wanted to 'paint color'. I gotta admit, I'm pretty awed at her desire and ability to color the actual picture 'in the lines'. No one has ever instructed her to do so. I'm sure she's watched me color but yeah. I'm a proud mama.
Image

and she spent the last year (started at about 11 months?) drawing circles. on everything. with everything. then those circles turned to faces. mostly sad faces. we're not sure why. called it her 'blue period'. pretty funny as she's such a silly, happy kid, generally. So, in keeping with that....here's her pumpkin patch pumpkin...a la Woo....

Image
it's kinda happy!

and what does our little artist like to wear to protect her clothes while making her masterpieces? last year's halloween costume, naturally. It says C.T.S. Certified Tantrum Specialist. I cracked myself up.

Last night, GG wanted us to collaborate on a big stick figure scene. The first scene is mine. The second one is his. (Imagine putting them together, side by side. Our guys meet and overlap in the middle.)

This is my first time posting an image, so here goes nothing. (Hold me, I'm scared!) This is a note my daughter "anonymously" taped to my husband's office door when she was mad at him.

The suggestions are: 1. apologize to someone you know, and 2. no two.

He wanted her to practice her piano lesson, and she didn't want to. So they got into a yelling match which ended up with her being sent to her room. The funny thing is that she's really a Daddy's girl - he is WAY more her favorite parent than me, so when they end up pushing each other's buttons - watch out!

This one's probably 6 months old or so, but was just rediscovered last night.

Is that the evil robot from The Incredibles being carried by a two-story tank being driven by John Travolta from Battlefield Earth? Awesome.

Remy came home from preschool today with a decidedly Picasso-inspired pumpkin.

I thought the driver was a Predator. Still awesome.

Also, Picasso pumpkins flicks the weasel!

GG's rendering of Demonor, a monster he and a friend dreamed up:
Image

As always, the picture's crummy, so you might not be able to read the labels or make out all the details.

He's got mirror claws (on the left side), sword claws (on the right side), a vine+tornado coming from his mouth, and shields and dagger points all over.

Also—and I can not stress this enough—Demonor "sucks you in (has monsters inside of him)."

GG has been busily making "trading cards" lately. He takes a before-school class one day a week that is devoted to this very thing. It's as though the class were designed with him in mind. Here are some of his cards, possibly inspired by Pokémon and various computer games, but mostly springing from his intense (and silly) imagination.
