We decided to just stick with our midwives even though we'll end up paying more now. The hospital we are using is the only one with a birthing center in the city and it would be the same insurance situation with any of the midwives that have privileges there. And since I'll be in my third trimester tomorrow (eek!) I don't really want to switch practices at this point. Otherwise I am feeling good besides the waking up every two hours to pee at night. And we signed a lease for a new apartment that we can move into at the end of February (walking up to our 5th floor right now is getting exhausting).

good luck ismbb!

Call your doctor! I'm glad your father-in-law is there so you can just rest. Drink some juice and feel better soon! Stay in there baby!

the doctor said there is a 24 hour bug going around, and if i can't pee then there i get to go in for a fluid iv. husband went to get popsicles. everything i drink just comes back up.

poor felix. he's just as sick, and he's got no idea what's going on.

thanks so much, ladies. it was pretty much the worst day ever. okay, not ever, but it was bad. i feel way better today, and i think felix does, too. i don't exactly feel 100% because i barely ate or drank or slept for 24 hours, but, whatevs, i'm ready for this baby to come out now.

For some women throwing up a whole bunch is a pre-labor sign. It usually happens about 2 days before labor. I went through that with my last labor. Something about clearing out the digestive track, I think. I'm probably remembering the reasons all wrong.

yeah, that's kind of what i thought it might be at first, but i don't think my 2 year old was having sympathy vomit so i'm pretty sure it was a stomach bug.

True true... the image of a sympathetic vomiting toddler made me laugh though. It's hard to imagine anything more awful.

Milo is here. 8 lbs 4 oz, 21 inches. Head circumference 37 centimeters. He was born vaginally this morning at 3:06. I got an epidural, and it felt fantastic (pushing was still lame, but you know... comparatively it was awesome). I was afraid an epidural would impede my ability to have a VBAC, but I could not have done it without one.

Oh my goodness! Sounds like it was a fast labor. Congratulations, and I'm so happy you got to have a VBAC! Now rest up and take pictures.
