Congrats Annamal!
Henry and Clara were born last Tuesday by scheduled c-section. Both breech, and the cord was wrapped around Henry's neck, so they think that could have been part of why he wasn't turning. They both had good apgar scores though, and I was able to start breastfeeding pretty quick for a c-section once I was in a recovery room. I had planned to quickly try to put them to my breast in the OR, but that was just not feasible. My OB warned me that while she's seen Moms do it, the Anesthesiologist doesn't like it, and certainly I'd get no help. I don't know how anyone could manage to whip out a boob while you're all cut up.
It's so much harder this time around for me. My first was born at nearly 42 weeks, and in retrospect, was an amazing sleeper for a newborn, probably at least partly due to her gestational age at birth. A 38 week 5 lb baby is just less prepared for the world. We've has some latch issues with Henry, but thankfully, Clara is a champion nurser so far. Due to jaundice and 10% weight loss in both of them, I have to pump after every breastfeed. It just takes so long to bfeed both and then pump, and of course, they don't sleep for very long at a stretch. So so tired.
But, for all that complaining, they are pretty darn cute. Just taking things one day at a time.

Yay! I can't even imagine how overwhelming it all must be, helbury. It sounds like you have a good attitude about it. What does Lydia think of them?
And belated congrats, annamal! So sweet.

Oh, that's the other problem. Poor Lydia has been sick since they were born, so we have had to keep her totally quarantined from me and the babies :(. I miss her so much, but thankfully, she's pretty happy to be spoiled by her grandparents in the meantime.

Congratulations Helbury! I hope Lydia feels better soon and can join you at home. I hope things ease up soon and that you can catch up on your rest and healing!

I swear, more pee comes out when I have a braxton hicks contraction during a pee. It's like there's hidden pee in my bladder that won't come out while I'm pregnant (I seriously have to tilt my pelvis forward to get extra out anyway while I'm pregnant), but having a braxton hicks contration whilst peeing pushes extra pee out like I've made it to the bonus round or something. It feels that way, at least.
And oh, man, have I been having some hardcore braxton hicks contractions. I would have oncoming labour paranoia if I weren't only 27 weeks.
