They are about to give me the last dose of the prostaglandin they call it miso something. Misopropel? I dunno I have brain fog.

I started having mild contractions that they say are 5 mins apart.

Slowly slowly things are happening.

BabyPunk is stubborn and independent like her mama!!!!

Don't be too stressed by the boredom! My SIL's induction took three days - cervidil each night and pitocin during the day and she birthed a nice big baby vaginally with no complications. Slow and steady is good!

I guess they are going to use the foley balloon in a couple hours then restart the pitocin. I just had a nice pity/cry party for myself now I'm ready to get down to bidness.

Hang in there, LisaPunk! It's so good you've been able to relax/sleep [even if you are bored!] because you'll be that much more rested for when things get going.
Just think, you're in the best place, being looked after, and BabyPunk will be there with you so soon!

Awesome belly, Crabby! You look great!!

aww LisaPunk...also fwiw my doula and midwives seemed to be fans of the Foley catheter as a way to really get things moving (though in my case we discussed it as a way for me to avoid an automatic c-section since I was having a VBAC). It doesn't sound like fun but maybe it will do the trick! Thinking of ya.

Great you're doing the foley catheter (I already have it on my fantasy birth plan for the next time around if I need induction again). I hear it really works because it's a mechanical method so not dependent on whether or not your body responds to the hormones. Hope that gets things going!

Thanks everyone sounds like maybe it's not as scary as I was thinking.
I guess they will do that plus some Cytol? Cyrvital? I dunno my brain is mush and then try pitocin again.
For some reason they are waiting for the night team to arrive so they can do some 12 hour thing overnight so I think I have several more hours to wait before we even start

Oh maybe it was the cervadil already mentioned that they are gonna do. That sounds familiar

Ok I guess I was wrong. The balloon is tomorrow they just gave me a soft squishy tampon like dose of cervadil and jammed it (literally) behind my cervix. They want that to soften my cervix then try the balloon.

All I know is I sent my husband out to get me Loving Hut buffet :-)

Cervidil! I had that with E, but it didn't work... because it fell out. That's why they like to do it at night, so you're not up and moving around. (Mine fell out into the toilet.)

Thanks for the updates! It's nice to know you're ok!

(Also, if your baby is born tomorrow, she'll share a birthday with Carol Burnett. I know you needed that information, ha ha.)

The cervadil didn't do anything though I did manage to keep it for all 12 hours. I'm waiting for the dr to come back to do the balloon. My body is just as stubborn as the rest of me!!!!

They did let me take a sort of half assed shower though which consisted of me sitting on a shower chair with the IV pole outside and my husband washing my hair. It was good for laughs.

Pretty emotionally drained and I cry every time something doesn't work but am otherwise hanging in.

I just want to hold the little punker in my arms and pinch her cheeks!

i'm so sorry, lisa. it must be really tough. how is baby punk doing? i wonder if they would let you out for a few hours just to get some fresh air, maybe go out for a bite to eat, stretch your legs and then come back for the foley? i would ask... you've been in the hospital for quite a long time now, and a little break would probably be good for you.

i've been thinking of you! you're going to have a baby soon!

LisaPunk, you poor dear -- that all sounds SO BORING. How are you feeling physically otherwise? I wish I lived nearby so I could lend you my kindle or annoy you with visits and descriptions of my giant underwear or something.

Thanks lb! BabyPunk is actually doing awesome. This crepe only seems to be affecting me so yay for that. They keep telling me she is as happy as a clam in there so no wonder she doesn't want to come out!!!

I know they won't let me out. I'm stuck here! The biggest concession I got was the shower and that was a big deal.
Even though BabyPunk has been totally fine the entire time they were hesitant to give me 10 mins with no fetal monitoring to take a shower. I also can't be taken off the IV :-( they give you a magnesium drip to prevent seizures which I guess is the big worry for preeclampsia. I do have a nice big window though and it's sunny out :-)

I send my husband out and make him report back with the weather.

Hahahaha! That sounds awesome! It is pretty boring. I can't concentrate on anything because of the magnesium. I tried watching a movie yesterday and after 15 mins had a headache and decided napping was better.

At least I'm getting a lot of rest!

Sending you tons of good thoughts LP. We're all rooting for you and BabyPunk!

I hope things go well! Also, I think PPK would be an awesome middle name for a baby girl....

Can you just take a walk around the building maybe? If she's been consistently happy on the monitors it doesn't seem like there'd be much risk. And it might be useful to get her pressing down on your cervix and maybe moving things forward.

Bummer about the cervidil. I had been told before they tried it with me that it can take 2 or 3 inserts to work-- but then when I was actually there, they didn't want to give me a second one. (Different doctor on-call than my actual one.)

Anyway, hang in there buddy. It must feel like it's stretching on forever right now, but you are going to be through this so soon. (And then I hope you'll eat a mountain of T. Sam's.)
