Ha! That's awesome. Maybe spending a lot of time at the beach this summer will transform her into a great sleeper.

The Emperor had his preschool graduation today. (He'll actually keep going until the fall, but some of his classmates will leave sooner so they held the graduation now.)

I really didn't expect to feel emotional about it. Watching E grow has been an incredible process and I pretty much never feel nostalgic for the person he used to be-- not because he wasn't awesome then, but because he just gets better as time goes on.

Yet I was really struck by the whole thing and am... sad... now. Weird.

But tell me it isn't incredible that this guy:

Used to be this guy:

(That's about the time he started preschool.)

My goodness, c&s, he's grown so much! I get emotional thinking about kindergarten in 2017, so there you go.

My big boy is finally going to Kindy in September too... A whole year later than most of his friends (born earlier in '08).

We just received our papers for school supplies and uniforms to buy. Eek!

BP starts SWIM lessons on friday. FUN! she LOVES the water.
i took her to a public pool/splash pad yesterday and at first she wanted nothing to do with it (lots of loud kids running around) but then i finally got her into it and she actually made "friends" with two girls who were sitting behind me that looked to be in their 20s. i was sitting at the edge of the pool and BP was walking back and forth holding onto either my knees or the edge of the pool and babbling up a storm. then i noticed she kept peeking around me and pointing or grinning like a goof (not something she does much) i was shocked. i turned around and was like "she NEVER smiles at strangers you guys are MAGIC!"

she's so on the cusp of walking on her own. she cruises like crazy on anything and everything she can grab onto and is an expert at pulling up to stand and is finally figuring out how to sit back down on her own. it seems to depend on where she is as to whether or not she'll do it. she walks up and down the hall with one of those walker things running over everything in her path which is mostly the dogs who dont seem to take the hint to move.
i think she physically *could* walk by herself at this point she's just scared. so basically anytime now!

she's not really talking yet but my husband thinks "mama" is her first word but she really only uses it when she is pissed off or hungry. she doesnt actually like point at me and say "mama" or anything.

oh and speaking of pointing, yeah that is the favorite activity especially when a ceiling fan is involved.

Before you know it she'll be walking LisaPunk!

Speaking of walking, Alice started walking! She started taking a few steps last week (towards me if I kept backing up) but yesterday she started walking without me close by. And today she walked across our living room without falling! It's exciting but I'm really going to miss the chunky little baby thighs and her cute dragging one leg crawl.

Oh wow! I still think of Alice as basically a newborn! That's crazy! Congratulations to her.

And I hope BP enjoys swim lessons. My husband started taking V last week but got in a bike accident and is kinda scraped up, so I'll either have to take her or have her skip it this week.. We'll see. But she really enjoys the pool now!

Alice has been saying Ada, mama, dada, and yeah for months now but in the last few weeks she has really started babbling. She doesn't have any other single clear words but she has a sentence! She now says "here you go" when she hands you stuff. It's so super cute the way she says it because it's all sing songy. She also started giving kisses which is just the best.

So we had a little breakthrough with Giles' language development in the past few days. He has now been signing "book", "jump", and "water" in addition to his long-time "more/again". He also has started making some animal noises! He had a kind of noise for pig for several months, but he has added one for horse, sheep, and cow. I am very excited. Hoping for some real words soon(ish)!

Yay! It's so awesome when the signs start making sense to them. We went from two to ten very quickly when she was able to do it physically/understood the value.

yay annasrobbie! that's great!
BP is late as usual on the language thing too. she's supposed to be saying 4-5 words by now and unless you count mumumumumumumum when she's hungry/angry she doesnt really have any.

she is *so* good at picking words out of sentences though. she had a bit of a sign explosion and if you're talking and say like "hair" or "more" or something and look over there is a good chance she is signing the corresponding word. it blows my mind.

im a bit worried as she has her 15 month appt coming up and im not worried about her development but i think the dr may disagree with me. she's not walking or talking and we still have the old eating issue.

sigh, oh well

Whoooooa how did the Emperor get so big and serious looking?!? Please tell me M is still chubby-cheeked and curly-haired?!!

BabyPunk in the water is adorable!

Somehow, Westiebaby was 18 months old a few weeks ago!! I can't believe my tiny baby is a year and a half old, she's been hanging out here with me twice as long as she was hanging out in my belly... She's adventurous and mischievous and has a hilarious sense of humour and I love watching her learn and grow and become more awesome every day!

Sebastian went to bed at 8:30, wanted a feed at 10pm before I went to bed, and then didn't waken again until 5:15 am!!!! Totally awesome. I feel like a million bucks.
