Whe we woke up this morning Ada gave me one of those big open mouth face plant kisses on my cheek. I said "I love you" and I swear she babbled a mumbled version of I love you back. And then I said it two more times and she kissed me again and babbled it two more times. This baby just melts my heart.

that is so, so sweet, sashi! milo is giving open-mouth, headbutt-y kisses now. so awesome.
yesterday, felix called for me to help him in the bathroom, and i thought he was done and needed a wipe. nope. he wanted me to hand him a magazine so he could read while pooping. not exactly a sweet moment, but i was cracking up (and a little proud).

tzipi LOOOOVES tea. life is all about tea these days. tea parties with her multiple sets of cups and saucers; "making" tea for us in her kitchen and bringing us a cup, watching while we "drink" it and then running back to make us another; demanding real tea on the regular, drinking sips from my cup or asking for her own cup; arguing with me over whether the sweetened herbal tea i made her was "jooosh" (juice) or "tea".
on monday we went to a little tea shop near our house and we got a big cup of tea for me and a little paper cup, and tzipi sat in a big chair and drank tea from her little cup so politely and carefully, and then went to talk to the salesgirls and look at all the different kinds of tea. i think i might have inadvertently set some biological clocks ticking that day, she was so stinkin' cute. of course, then we went to the grocery store and she had a melt down in the spaghetti sauce aisle, but for like 30 minutes there, it was magical.

D'awww. I love that. The Emperor is into tea too, but only chai. We burn through a lot of decaf chai right now.
As I roll into the stretch of pregnancy where sleeping is super uncomfortable, I've been crashing out on the couch a lot. The Emperor has been coming out to find me in the living room when he wakes up, and there's just enough room between my belly and the couch back that he can climb in and snuggle. Which he does while babbling to me about the most random things and singing me songs. It's pretty much the best way to start a day ever.

My biological clock went off a lot around cute wee ones when I was a barista! One tiny girl asked me for a 'popsicle stick without the popsicle.' Her mom was all, "don't be silly," but I was all, "no, problem!" and got her one of those wooden swizzle sticks. The girl was positively beaming.

Grey loves tea too! He actually loves drinking from adult glasses, he won't take a bottle anymore but always wants my water or tea. I only give him a couple tiny sips. I have heard that camomile tea can be really good for babies, I am going to look into it more and possibly give it to him.
Yesterday we went for a hike with other mommies (it was 70degrees!) we walked to the ocean and on the way back he was looking up at me and smiling and giggling and I had the best baby. Man, I am in love with the ergo!

For the last two nights, I've been reading GG the book I've been (mostly not) writing for the past 5 or 6 years. I've read it to him before, but not for a long time. Recently, he asked me to read it to him. Last night he said it was currently his favorite book. Now, sure, his favorites (books, movies, video games, etc. etc.) change just like that, but it still made me feel great.

I can't believe how cool it is to hang out with a baby all day... seriously.
Now that I am back to work part time the days I have spent with him even if he is fussy have been actually fun.

Can this be about nieces too?? Tomorrow me and my husband are going to my niece's school to have lunch with her. She has been begging us to for a long time. The great thing is, she is a freshman (14 years old), and isn't embarrassed of us (yet)! How cool is that??! I just love that she still wants to spend time with her family, even though she has tons of friends. She is one cool teenager. :)

Anyhow, catching up on this thread because I'm going through one of my 'really want to adopt RIGHT NOW' phases. Sigh! Kids are the best.

My kid is laying in my bed talking to my pillow and giggling. I never expected parenthood to be this awesome.

It makes me feel so good. There are days where I'm just a dick to her and that I'm still her best friend means the world to me and also reminds me to try to be less dickish to her.

This morning, Pea Pod woke up and said "Thank you, Mama. Give a kiss." And she kissed me. She usually wakes up crying but this was great.

Grey is the best in the morning and I love having him in the ergo because he is always looking up at me and will start giggling. Yesterday at mothers group he passed out on me and it was so nice. Last night was rough but man, I love being that kids mom.

Matt's been working a TON lately, so I haven't had much of a break (okay, no break) in forever. Shae's been taking Silas outside to play for a bit every day. They run around playing soccer and basketball and badminton. The house is quiet except for little giggles as they run past the window. Good stuff.

GG had been gone all day (at school, of course) and then for part of the evening, at a friend's. In the car on the way back, says Mrs. Face, he was talking about how he couldn't wait to see me. When he got home, he ran inside. "Papa! I haven't seen you for like 12 hours!" He jumped up into my arms and gave me a hug.
It's those moments.
