It amazes me sometimes how nothing really seems to bother Malcolm pain-wise. He a rough n' tough boy, and some of the stuff he does would make me cry if I did it, and he doesn't even notice.
Yesterday he fell running up the street, and his face broke the fall. Bloody lips, blood coming from his mouth, etc. He cried for maybe 2 minutes, then he just thought his lips looked funny (because they were fat), and he was all about giving kisses with his big puffy lips.
It almost scares me sometimes how unafraid of pain he is. Especially since my inlaws want to give him a mini dirt bike thing, etc.
Is it normal for kids not to be bothered by pain? He always wants to go faster, higher, etc on the playground, so I know when he's older he's going to want to do all the dangerous sports and activities. And then all of my hair will turn gray and fall out from worry and stress. Or I'll have a heart attack.
Please tell me he will outgrow this, or it's just a phase and soon he'll be interested in.... chess, reading, croquet, and swimming?

AmandaMelanie, babysneakers is only 6 months old and I can tell he already has one helluva pain tolerance and that I will be icing lots of bruises and bandaid-ing lots of scrapes. MrSneakers was the same as a kid and he's never broken a bone though, so you may be lucky and not actually have to go to the ER very often (or at all!). Get that first aid kit stocked up ;)

I had a very high pain threshold when I was younger & I still do to this day.
