Anyone else nursing stuffed animals on demand like me? Tonight I nursed the Sesame Street gang tandem with babynut before she finally conked out.

Also, in more lactation news...I was working a bit later than usual today and my partner called me and put babynut on the phone:

Me: hello?
BN: I want to nurse! Now!

Well, okay then.

Ha ha ha. I've "nursed" toys on demand. Though interestingly, M (who is more into the care and feeding of baby dolls than E ever was) usually asks that the baby be given a bottle.

He hasn't nursed for about two weeks. I think we're really done now.

Scarlett will currently only nurse with both of my boobs whipped out so that she can go back and forth for every sip. It's not really happening in public these days.

Oh yes, I have to have both out too. She gets really mad if I try to cover one up. She also orders me to put my arms in certain positions. God forbid I put my arm in the wrong spot! I'm trying to get her to only nurse at bedtime so it's not that big of a deal, but definitely not in public anymore!

C&S that's a big milestone. I hope to be there soon.

No kidding, tiny wu just started twiddling a couple weeks ago and it is the worst. No amount of clever layering can deter her.

holy hilarious! I'm kinda looking forward to Sierra asking to nurse verbally; right now she just signs "milk" like crazy, even while she's nursing.

I hate it too! Z wasn't doing it for the longest time, but now he does, along with wanting to alternate boobs, and shoving his hand down my shirt and caressing or pinching. Ugh.

BP went through a phase of trying to jam her hand into her mouth while nursing and messing with the nipple that was in her mouth.

it made me want to like stab my eyes out.
she's stopped it but shes so young im sure the other nipple twiddling will start eventually. right now i only have to have one boob out and we dont switch sooooo hopefully it will stay that way.

Yeah, that's what I thought too but she is devious and determined! Seriously, after over a year twiddle-free. I've resorted to clamping the other hand on top; fortunately if she really can't get to it she loses interest (in twiddling, not nursing).

I've tried everything. He pushes my hand away, he bites me, he screams/cries if I don't let him twiddle.

My supply is now dwindling after getting my first PPAF last month :(

By chance do any of the Bay area Californians know someone who might have some freezer stash milk to share. This is what my acquaintance Melissa just posted on FB:

Quote:
Anyone in Marin have extra breastmilk in their freezer that they would be willing to share with a baby in need? My friends' triplets rely on donor milk and their chest freezer broke and thawed out and a huge portion of their stash. One of the babies ONLY takes breastmilk, no formula, and they only have enough in their small freezer for a couple of days. I'm going to see them tonight so I'd be happy to bring it over to them in Oakland.

She's had one positive reply so far, but triplets go through milk *fast* so anything would help.

Thanks! I'm sure that's not a problem. I just asked her if they're still looking for milk, but it's like 6 in the morning there so I'm not sure if she's up/reading the 'net yet. :)

What methods did you guys find works to stop biting?
BP had cut the tiniest super sharp nub of her first tooth and last night when she was half asleep she wasn't actually biting but I think her latch wasn't great and it was rubbing on my nipple and now my left nipple is wicked tender. Then later on the other side she did give me a little bite.

Seems like there's two schools of thought.

There the firm no and delatching and putting them down.

Then I've read to actually push their face into your breast tissue because it blocks their airway and they naturally stop because they are trying to breath. That one in not sure how it teaches them not to bite.

I feel you, LisaPunk! Not the biting, but the shallow latch/teeth grinding, I have a super saw cut/graze on one side from Westiebaby's little razors and it's at the point where I dread feeding that side.

Don't forget the third school of thought where you are recommended to pinch the baby's ear or something similar 'so they feel pain as well' to stop biting!

Sorry, that's completely unhelpful, but I can offer sympathy!

I was shocked to feel how sharp the damn thing is!
Right now the bad latch/grazing against teeth is worse than the bite was but it was just a nip.

I'm so scared!!! My nipples are terrified!
