Mr. Bran can be sitting 14 miles away on a wholly different porch and will hear me crack the top of a vegan pudding or yogurt and come a charging to try to stick his face in it. He will eat almost any food if it is given to him, but it is non-dairy dairy type stuff that he goes nuts for and will sit and stare at me plaintively for. Ice cream, sour cream, yogurt, you name it.

Are other cats like this? Someone recently expressed surprised that a cat would be so excited for non-dairy versions of things but no one has informed Mr. Bran on this. He acts like it is the holy kibble grail and he wants to stuff his nose in it immediately.

I should note that I almost never feed one M. Bran anything but his kibble. Although for a period of time he and Eppy bonded over mostly empty yogurt containers on the ground to be licked out. (Placed by Eppy, nose dived into by Bran).

Both of my cats try to eat the tofutti better than cream cheese off of my bagels! They don't bother with any other human foods. I really don't have a lot of other non dairy dairy around though, so maybe.

I have a typo in the title. Related. Although perhaps Realated works too.

My cat is only like that about EB and nooch! Once she tried rice milk, but now she turns her nose up.

Hiboux goes crazy for soy yogurt. She'll sit next to you and try to stick her paw in the cup when you're not looking.

Mr Angus looks at me like my head's cut when I offer him soy stuffs. He will however cut a bisque up to get a bite of hobnob and is roaring at me over his shoulder ever few seconds atm because I'm not sharing pink wafers with him. He stalks my nooch toast & slurped some cherry jam recently.

Milks! Mr. Bran loves soymilk. If I have cereal he is instantly by my side staring. He likes to try to bat my spoon out of the bowl so it flings out and sprays the precious soymilk everywhere.

My cats are not interested in any of that. They do, however, love to tip over glasses. If you set a glass of any liquid down, they are immediately drawn to it and attempt to knock it over.

Amos, who is not a cat and may be unwelcome in this thread, is mad for anything fake fruity smelling. Popsicles, candy, gum, kool-aid, whatever. I bought some lime lip balm and I have to keep it at work or he'll try to pin me down and lick my lips off. I know dogs are pretty much down with people food in general, but fruit seems like the last thing they'd be interested in... except maybe for fake fruit, which shouldn't even smell like food to them. Tell that to the dog who'll mug you for a popsicle.

Glasses of soymilk are not safe in my house, especially of the strawberry variety. I have to keep it guarded the whole time or BOTH cats are trying to drink out of the glass or get their paws in their for a taste. Olivia goes crazy for the Silk french vanilla coffee creamer, so much so she will drink the coffee if there is creamer in it, but turns her nose up of the coffee is black.

My cats want all my food. It's really kind of annoying. My mealtime routine consists of fending off kitties trying to get the food right off my plate. I have to hoist plate in air to keep them away, fend off kitties with other hand, buy enough time to take a bite before they're close enough again to pounce, rinse, repeat. SERIOUSLY.

Banana is a big fan of vegan ice cream (as long as it's not fruity) and today I caught him licking the bowl from a batch of cashew cream sauce.

Nero loves to lick out soy yogurt containers, but he mostly goes crazy for tofurkey. Who knows where they get this from? they are so weird! nero once ate a carob chip. he will lick leftover cereal milk, too, but only sometimes.

Mr. Bran goes for the butterscotch chips I drop and will scarf them down.
He will be persistent about leftover milk in bowl until I remove the bowl and will then follow me to the kitchen.

Millie loves anything creamy. Not just tofutti cream cheese and sour cream, but also hummus, which is her favorite. Desmond is more discerning. He likes tofutti, but hummus has no interest for him.

While not a dairy alternative in any way, I discovered a couple of nights ago that Olivia loves both plain popcorn and raw broccoli. Maynard thought both were a cruel joke.

June loves non-dairy stuff too. She will get aggressive over any plant milk. But she also likes anything green: sea veggies, greens, broccoli, etc. If I'm eating collards, I'll see a paw come up over the edge of my plate all sneaky to hook a leaf. She'll try to flip my plate over or knock it out of my hands for sea veggies.

The paws! Stretching 14 feet from another room to snatch that food.
Cats are just great.

EDIT AGAIN: Lionel, the cat that lives at my clinic, is all up in my business when I eat something with EB on it.

One of my cats, Lola, loves soy yogurt with a passion. If I open a new container, she is there to try to lick the seal. She has also been caught licking the container.

Also not a cat and also not non-dairy, but this reminds me of my dog Ginny, whenever I slice a mango Ginny comes running into the kitchen... even if she was upstairs or outside! I don't know how she can hear this, let alone be able to tell the difference from mango-slicing to any other kind of slicing. Sometimes she'll be at my side begging so fast I'll have barely even penetrated the surface with the blade.
