Over the past week I've noticed when Tristan (7 months) looks at me, one eye glows and one eye doesn't. Today he finally let me get a good look at his eye and I noticed his pupil is cloudy. The definite line between pupil and retina is kinda just blurry. He isn't acting like anything is different, but I'm thinking he might have sustained a hit to the eye when roughhousing with his his big brother, Gershwin. Anyone ever had this with their cat before?

Okay, back from the vet. I called right after I made this post and they wanted to see him right away. They think he probably got a scratch to the eye and it's infected...so I have to give him ointment in the eye 4x/day and they want to see him again on Monday. I hope it's just a simple infection.

I've had to give Lady M ointment like that, and she didn't like it but tolerated it. Get well, Tristan!

His eye looks worse today :( I'm hoping it's just because I've been putted the medicated goop in his eye. At any rate, he goes to see the vet again tomorrow.

Interesting - so they think he has a corneal ulcer along with conjunctivitis? It could happen but is he on something for infection only or to heal the ulcer?

He should not be rubbing the eye... sometimes cats will rub the hell out of their eye if they feel there is something in it and will make the situation much worse. If you see him only every now and then paw at his eye - he needs an elizabethan collar like NOW!

Thanks everyone! We were given an ointment which is both an antibiotic and an anti-inflammatory.
They didn't tell me anything other than he may have sustained an injury to his eye. That's what we're hoping, anyway.
He's been SUCH a trooper! He is so sweet, when we give him the ointment in his eye he just holds perfectly still and doesn't flinch. No rubbing or anything.
