Harness has been re-drafted and it fits- so all that's left to do is put everything together. The individual components of Biscuit Catbus are so cute that I'm slightly worried there is a small chance of me dying of adorable overload before I finish. I'll do my best to upload a picture before I finally succumb, though.

I had almost given up on finding a costume that would fit Tegan when I found this XL hippie costume. It kind of just looks like she's wearing random frilly clothes, but whatever.

Of course as soon as I started dressing her, the entire family from the house behind us came streaming out into their yard. I was slightly embarrassed that I was standing outside putting pants on my dog, so I just snapped this pic quickly and went back inside. I'm pretty sure they saw, though.
When I first saw this pic, I thought the furry white collar was part of the outfit but no, now I see it's Tegan's floofishness perfectly arranged into a natural ruff!

I am so excited for Biscuit Catbus and Pepper Susuwatari!!!

Tegan looks more dignified in tie-dye than most people would. It's the floof-ruff, for sure.

Yeah, there's no hiding her floofiness! I think we might be in for a cold winter here, because she seems to be growing extra floof this Fall.

We call that her "angry owl face", and it's basically the only expression she has. It's like kitty resting bisque face.

Reporting major delays on the Catbus this morning due to an urgent sniffing situation.

Also, I need to tidy my house because I've got a Susuwatari problem!

We went to a doggie Halloween event this afternoon for a costume contest. It was really poorly organized- basically whoever rushed to the front first got introduced to the judges by the emcee, and I had to pipe in with "excuse me, we're in the contest, too!" once the judges had already started judging. They ended up giving first prize (human/pup combo category) to some bullshiitake store-bought Star Wars costumes. I'm not annoyed by not winning, but I am annoyed by not getting a fair shot, and by store-bought winning out over all the other homemade costumes! At least second place went to a really cute and beautifully homemade fish/carp costume (the human was a 'fisherman').

omg omg omg !!!!! The judges were wrong, obviously!

(I once went to a pet costume contest where there were some really great costumes that people had obviously spent lots of time on, and yet first prize went to a dog with a black trash bag tied around his neck for a cape. I don't even know what's up with dog costume contest judges.)

Thank you both! The PPK's approval means far more than some gift certificate for a dog hotel I'll never use, anyway!

Watching the dogs bob for apple pieces was the extent of my Halloween celebration this year. So exciting! Tegan and I had to show Gabe the ropes, because it's his first Halloween with us. He caught on pretty quickly.

This thread is amazing! Here is Enzo! He loved his costume which I was not expecting because I tried it on Willow first and she was not having it.

It's that time again! What are your pet's plans for this Halloween? I don't want to give anything away, but Tegan did see Jaws at the drive-in this summer...

The shelter animals had their annual costume party this weekend, and Lipton wanted to join in again:

She is the best chicken. I love her.
