I'm flying back east to see my family over Xmas. My sister has a litter of kittens from a stray she took in, and I desperately want to take one or 2. They'll be old enough to fly at that point, and according to the airline, I can have a kitten in the cabin as long as it's in an approved carrier. My question is that I'd like to bring 2 kitties back with me, in the same carrier. Do you think the airlines would approve? I'm flying by myself, so I can only bring one carrier and I'd like my kitten to have a buddy. I could call the airlines, I suppose.

It is probably airline dependent, but the rule was 1 cat per carrier when we flew my cats across the country

I flew airtran and it was 1 cat per carrier. When we were moving that was what we found with most airlines, although all my cats were full grown so I didn't look into kittens too much. We also had to purchase a seat for each cat. Nate and I have 4 cats but there were only the two of us and we still needed to purchase 4 human seats. Each cat seat was additional money too.

Also, there is a limit to the number of furry companions per cabin so it is necessary to reserve well in advance and mention the kitty. So, it will require a call to the airline either way. Good luck!
