I'm so sorry. I'm glad he got to play in the park and that he has you. Love to you both.

We started Chemo today, and the infection seems to be gone along with the fever/swelling. So that's all good, we have our usual Party back.

So far he's taken really well to the chemo stuff, but the latest blood work has some elevated levels which may indicate it's in his marrow. We are still trying to be positive, his mood/behaviour etc are 100 times better.

So much love to you and Party. He really is one of the PPKpuppies I think of first. I hope the treatment continues to work. Much love.

Update: Chemo's been going well, Vet says we are looking at full remission which is awesome news.
With Lymphoma it might be for 5 weeks, months or a few years.. so it's a wait and see. But thanks everyone for the positive thoughts etc

Thanks guys, I've been trying to get up the nerve to make this post. I've pretty much such off my cell/pc for communication purposes.

He had gotten sick a couple days ago, presumably form some non-vegan meat based wet/dry food my mother gave him. While I was at work he got sick and was up all night getting sick. I later found out he was given tiny rawhides, and when we got him to the vet there was a double whammy of bad news. His cancer was back, and had spread. His liver was enlarged, it was in his lungs and possibly in his stomach and/or he could have an obstruction. He was acting fine other than the vomiting, but an x-ray revealed the worst, he had a suspicious gas pattern and it was possible there was foreign matter. But given his cancer coming back so aggressively exploratory surgery was ill advised (and it is possible the shapes on the xray were more tumors).. however because he might have an obstruction rescue chemo wasn't an option because he would still have a blockage.

It was during the diagnoses that he started to look sick. Ideally he was going to be put down by a vet friend at home, but given that he had been sick all night the previous night I decided I didn't want to risk him having an even worst night than before. It feels pretty bad because this hit us out of no where and we didn't expect anything serious when we took him in, it all happened really fast. Ultimately I know it was the right thing to do, but I feel pretty awful that his last day wasn't a very good day. We did walk a bit off leash in the woods behind our house, but overall I wish we could have done more or suspected that he was terribly sick. He got an awful lot of shitty cards dealt in life and I guess this was just the last rotten hand.

The vet stayed open late so my vet friend could at least come see him and be with him when he was put down. I think he is being cremated.. but it still doesn't seem real that he is gone. He will definitely be missed, everyone who met him fell in love with him a bit, so I just hope he has some idea of how much he was loved.
