Long haired guinea pigs = stinky bum dreads. Vladimir was very unhappy with his spring haircut but the little chap was growing some really smelly, nappy hair. Now he's got hair static, last night I stroked him once and it was as though I'd rubbed him with a balloon.

I got my bunny a food puzzle for her 10th birthday, and she is getting really good at finding the food (she can't see, so is going by scent/touch)! It's so cute.

D'awwwwww.

I swear nothing on earth smells worse than wet guinea pig. (That's my yard randomness.)

Here's Karma doing her puzzle. Please excuse her scruffiness; she is blowing her coat and will not let me pull the tufts out of her face or legs (there is a reason why her nickname is Grumpy Bunny!).

she is similar to my dogs doing a treat puzzle when she gets violent and starts scratching at it!

I need to go wash my hair but one of my cats really wants to be held. When I put her down she meows and is upset. Sigh. How can you say no to this face though?

Ugh, so my cat normally has a problem with throwing up after eating. She can go months without it happening or else it might happen twice in a week. It has happened 4 times today with no meal since first vomiting episode has remained down. I also watched her eat her last meal of wet food and she was very cautious about eating and it wasn't very much but she still threw it up. I've never seen anything like this with her. So I called the vet and they said it was my choice but it didn't sound like a good thing so I'm taking her in.

Thinking good thoughts for you and your cat Linanil! My cat Veto had a similar bout and we thought he might have a blockage from eating tinsel, but apparently x-rays showed he just had a little gastroenteritis, which was easily remedied. Its definitely worth getting it checked out!

So, neither of the cats have gone poo since yesterday morning. This isn't a huge deal (I don't think) except Lola goes 2-3 times per day. The vet said she has a ton of hard poop in there. He gave her an anti-nausea shot and some gentle kitty laxative. He said if she keeps throwing up (when we got home she ate a little, drank water and no throwing up) or if she doesn't poop, he wants to see her in the morning. I think they'll give her an enema and watch her throughout the day. We also have to isolate her until she poops which she does not like.

Thanks for good thoughts, she has eaten a few light meals including at 4am when I got up to feed her and a larger breakfast but still no poo. If poo doesn't magically appear within the next hour, back to the vet she goes.

poor kitty! i dont know anything about cats but i hope she is ok!! keep us posted.

we had a puking dog this morning for no apparent reason.
he puked a small amount once before my husband took him for a walk and then he said that all he wanted to do was eat the dead grass on their walk.
then they got home he came up into the bedroom and promptly puked up all the dead grass.

then for the rest of the morning all we could hear was his stomach churning and making noises!!
poor pup. he didnt want his breakfast so we didnt make him eat it. we gave him an acid reducer and basically left him alone.

this happens every once in awhile with either pup so we just left him be. my husband went home at lunch and said he was fine.

he took a normal poop this morning. im guessing he ate something that upset his tummy.

nothing like dog puke first thing in the morning!!!

Good luck Lisa!

Lola is fine according to the vet, he said he had to manually extract some hard poop. He couldn't get it all so he did do a gentle enema. Luckily she was sedated throughout the process. We pick her up in a few hours

Mars, you can get little carpet stairs and then use a staple gun to attach them to the stairs. That's what we did after Chester busted his hip.

Glad to hear Lola is on the mend. The poor sweetheart.

Oh Lisa, I hate dog puke in the morning! Lexi usually saves it for when I've just eaten. I hate it when dogs get sick because they look so sorry for themselves. Lexi gets it every few weeks but never seems to be ill in any other way. She still acts like a possessed demon.

I gave her a massive walk this morning. It done nothing to tire her out. She kept pacing and yapping like a chihuahua after and kept going until I had a headache. I ended up having to go for a nap upstairs because it was the only thing that would quieten her.

Okay, this is starting to freak me out. Tristan has taken to staring at the ceiling in the living room, pacing, and staring, and meowing, and more staring. Trevor says that cats can hear higher frequencies than we can, and maybe he's hearing something like mice. But I feel like I could hear that too if that were the case...? Ghosts aren't real, and all google questions on this lead to people saying, "It's a ghost!" No, it's not. But what the hell is it?

Chester insisted on going out 15 minutes before Brian's alarm would've gone off, which means I had to let him out and then couldn't get back to sleep. Chester always whines right in my ear because he knows that Brian could sleep though a bomb and I will wake up for anything.

It wouldn't be so annoying if letting him out didn't mean getting fully dressed, down to the shoes, because I have to carry him back up the stairs. I can't wait to have a non-stair back porch.

My kitten Olive has been having diarrhea on the floor since mid-October (thus the internal medicine specialist we're seeing soon), and today she pooped on my phone charger!

I got home last night and my long-hair cat had a piece of dried poo stuck on her and it totally made me think of this thread.

P.S. that fluffy hair on their hind legs by their bum is called their bloomers, which I find adorable because it really *does* look like she is wearing a pair of bloomers sometimes.
