Ferdinand might be getting a wheelchair to help him get around, and I'm thinking if he does, he'll need his own Doggles so he can look cool as he wheels around. Perhaps ones with racing flames on the side.

When I lived in Colorado, I saw a guy riding a motorcycle with his dog in the sidecar. The dog was wearing doggles and a kicky scarf. It's one of the best things I've ever seen, and it still pains me that I didn't get a photo. This helps. :)

I just sat back on the sofa and somehow trapped Molly's tail. She gave a huge, awful squeal of pain, and then ran over and rubbed her head on my cheek when I said I'm sorry.

I don't get it. I inflict grievous injury through carelessness, and I get a snuggle, but I say good morning to her ten minutes late in the morning and I get a blood dripping bite.

Birds are weird. I guess this means she knows the tail thing was an accident, but she thinks any delay in the morning is on purpose because <whatever her scary birdbrain has cooked up>.

The retro tv station here shows old episodes of Lassie every night. I put it on for Tegan about 15 minutes ago, and when I left her she was lying on the couch and watching the tv very intently. She just came upstairs into my room, and gave me her "follow me!" look. I thought she might have to go outside, so I got up and followed her downstairs. She marched into the living room, stopped in front of the tv and looked at me, and then walked over to my mother and stared at her. My mother had changed the channel to some celeb gossip show, and Tegan was not happy! I think she was hoping I would fix it for her.

My parents filled out adoption papers today for this little guy...I hope it all works out. My ex sister in law's dog is a frequent visitor at my parents' house, and I really really want for them to get along! My parents are not far from me, so I am going to drop by a lot to give little Fritz a walk.

I was trudging to the bus terminal from the gym this morning when I had to do a double take on a guy wearing what looked at first like an ordinary backpack - there were two little black dogs peeking out the top of it. I am not sure if they let him on the bus as pets are supposed to be in a closed carrier but it perked me up. I wish I had a picture.

There was a man here who used to ride around on his bike with a large & fluffy orange cat draped across his shoulders.

Guys, there is this pup that is in a local animal rescue and he is the most divine pup EVER. He was born to a completely wild siberian husky mother. When he was rescued he was completely covered in lice and a broken tail. He has had to have most of his tail removed and is now lice free and a happy playful pup. He is seriously gorgeous.

I need to go on a Facebook ban so I stop going to look at his photos.

So the last 2 weeks or so when I get home my post is usually left on the stairs for me. Obviously it is Lexi leaving it there since she is the only living creature in the house that would be capable of putting it there. I'm off this week so I was around when the postwoman was doing her rounds. Turns out Lexi recognises her van from when she turns on to the street. She runs around the house until the postwoman arrives then sits at the door waiting. As the post goes through the letterbox the postwoman says "there you go" and Lexi takes it while it is still technically in the postwomans grip.

That's seriously cute! Well, provided that Lexi is a dog that is...

She is indeed. A grand bit not so vicious German Shepherd. Next time I spot the postwoman I'm going to ask does she do that the whole time. She has been indoors since Christmas week thanks to the severe storms we have been getting.

That is adorable. I have a less cute postal story about Mike the German Shepherd… T's postman rang the doorbell the other morning. No one ever rings the doorbell, so Mike was going totally apeshit. When T opens the door, the postman was super nervous about Mike and T had to go outside ('He's not coming with you, is he?') to talk to him. It's funny, he's usually really great around people, but the doorbell freaks him out and T says that he's never liked people who wear uniforms.

I asked how Mike would know it was a uniform, but did not get a straight answer.

Haha! God bless him.

I'm not allowed to do a walk today thanks to near fainting after blood donation. Lexi is not handling it too good. At one point she hopped up on the bed pulled the blankets off me and breathed in my face like a total creep.

Speaking about postal deliveries, customs has been sitting on my parcel to be delivered to me for four days now :(

I went looking for Tegan and found her in my mom's room. She had knocked my mom's ipad off the nightstand and was licking it. I went and asked my mom if she had by chance left any food on her nightstand. She said yes, 2 fun-sized kit kat bars. We searched and searched but could not find the wrappers or any trace of them. Meanwhile, Tegan was looking extremely pleased with herself! So I think she may have eaten them, wrappers and all. I'm hoping that won't cause any digestive issues! Oh, Tegan.

Oh Tegan!!

I saw the postwoman today so I stopped and asked her does Lexi take the post off her the whole time. Apparently Lexi is at the door waiting every day. Luckily she finds it cute and is used to it. Next week a new post man is starting so I'm going to have to relocate her to the back garden again. Thankfully we seem to be done with the winter weather so she will be fine.

I'm looking at a dog rescue adoption form and one of the questions is, under what circumstances would you give up the dog? One of the options is if the dog didn't get along with my other dog. Now, I wouldn't ever consider surrendering a dog without a really huge reason (for example, Rhodie has some major issues and has bitten me multiple times--for reasons I understand and try to avoid--and I think this would be a deal breaker for a lot of people, but not me), but if they were constantly fighting and hurting each other? I mean, hopefully you never even get into that situation because you suss out before adoption whether the dogs get along, but still. Should I answer truthfully or should I say no? It seems like a trick question, like if you answer yes you're a bad person.
