Bunnies are awesome! I have a bunch of friends who do rabbit rescue, and all of them keep their bunnies indoors - they will confine them to cages or to safe enclosures because the bunnies do chew on things. Being outside is scary for bunnies because they are exposed to the smells of animals that are traditionally their predators. Our friends have rescue bunnies that hang out with their dogs and cats, and they seem totally non-plussed by them. The one thing I would definitely make sure to do is find a good bunny vet. Most vets don't have a ton of experience with buns, so finding a good bunny vet is crucial. Although bunnies can live for about 10 years, most pet bunnies die before they're a year old, because they don't get good vet care, and they die quickly if they get GI stasis and it goes untreated.
