So my poor little kitty peed on the carpet in my car on the way to the vet (he suddenly outgrew his cage and I had nothing to put him in). I soaked up as much of the urine as i could and then saturated the stain with Natures Miracle but every time I get in my car it's like someone has slapped me in the face with an ammonia soaked glove :(
I was thinking of maybe pouring some oxygen bleach over the stain and scrubbing the shitake out of it and spraying more of the enzymes on...
It's really shitty because it's starting to get really forking cold here and turning the heat on only makes it a million times worse... Help?

Ugh-how cold? cause if the nature's miracle is freezing it won't work. Another thing to try but it will be a huge mess-baking soda and peroxide paste then vacuum it up. Could you put carpet fresh on it then cover it with a floor mat? Next time you need to take him to the vet put him in a laundry basket with a towel tied over the top.

Even just a shiitake ton of baking soda. Buy two or three boxes, dump them all out on the pee spot, leave them for as long as you can (at least a couple of hours, a day or two if you have the time) and then vacuum it all up.

Cat urine could be used as a chemical weapon, I swear. You might want to try this: http://www.care2.com/greenliving/neutralizing-cat-odors.html

Mix two cups of hydrogen peroxide with two tablespoons of baking soda until the baking soda dissolves then stir in two drops of dish soap. Soak the pee spot, being sure to fully saturate the area so that it gets all the way down to the padding. Let it set overnight and then blot up any excess with a clean white towel. You might need to repeat this to get all the smell out, but it works really well.

You better put your cat in the cage to get rid of peeing out of your carpet. You may use a baking soda with white vinegar to remove the bad odor in the carpet. That is what I am always doing to remove some bad odors from my carpets and it is really effective.

I think enzymatic cleaners designed to remove urine is the best method. Sometimes, if you use something very aromatic, it just covers up what you can smell but doesn't necessarily remove the urine from the item.
Good luck! Cat urine is the worst. :)

eta: I ended up diluting some Dr.Bronners Peppermint soap and scrubbed the shitake out of it, soaked up as much as I could and doused it in baking soda. It seems to have done the trick, now I just have to head to the gas station to vaccuum up the soda. Yay! no more peewagon! I did that with dog poo. Blargh. Bronners, woo!

Vinegar will neutralize cat urine odors.
