Oh Ida Mae! I love her! She looks like my first kitty - who also enjoyed using my boobs as a bed - she always tucked her front paws in - just like Ida Mae in that picture. I still miss her - she would have loved a snuggly sling!

So happy you found each other!

Ida Mae is so sweet. Hoping to see more pics of new fosters :)

So, the new foster kittens are incredibly shy and scared. When I let them out of the carrier yesterday afternoon they ran into my closet. I let them stay in there for a while and left the room so they'd feel more comfortable exploring. I popped in to check on them a couple times throughout the night and never saw them, so finally I opened up the closet to find them and was greeted with all kinds of hissing and growling. So I left them alone again. I ended up sleeping on my couch because I didn't want to be too intrusive while they were so freaked.

So, there probably won't be many stories about or pics of them for a few days.

One of the foster kittens finally made an appearance! I think it was Boo, but I'm not sure. They are both tuxedos, and the only way I was told I could tell them apart is that Boo has a bigger bib. So, I won't know for sure til I have another bib to compare to. But whichever one came out was super sweet. I could see the other one under the bed... maybe she'll be brave enough to come out tomorrow. I tried to take a picture of her... but trying to photograph a (mostly) black cat in a dim room is a disaster.

So in the meantime, I'll show you a pic of how Ida greeted me when I got home tonight:

Ida is really amazing. It has been so fun to watch her play with Nora (my youngest cat who is basically still a kitten). They have been chasing each other all over the place. Nora is about double her size, but Ida doesn't seem to notice or care.

The kittens got brave FAST. The more outgoing one (Boo) has emerged from under my bed a few times since last night, but she has been very hesitant about me and runs away if I make any sudden movements. Until about 15 minutes ago, I hadn't seen her sister (Blossom) since they arrived on Monday. Blossom finally came out from under the bed when I delivered dinner to them though. Then a few minutes ago-- just 15 minutes after Blossom finally let me touch her for the first time-- they jumped the baby gate that was keeping them in my bedroom, and now they are brazenly exploring the apartment.

The resident cat that seems to care most about the kittens making an appearance is Ida. I keep having to remind her that she can't get all territorial on them, since she has only been here herself for 4 days longer. My other two cats seem totally uninterested in the kittens, and just want to nap undisturbed.
