So, my partner and I took in this beautiful stay about three weeks ago. We named her Valentina, Smallentine, V and about a thousand other things that she will never respond to! We're beyond smitten and she's the most chill, adaptable little furball. Well, not that little! She's 11.5 pounds. We think she's about 3 years old. She's pretty playful and really well socialized, especially for a kitty that was abandoned. We didn't plan on getting a second cat, but we are gone all day long and worry about our daughter being bored and lonely. She's an inside only kitty for safety reasons. So, tell me how cute she is and then tell me what you think about adopting her a buddy! Should we give her more time to know how much we love her? Or do it now while she's still new? A kitten or someone her own age? Is it weird to bring her a twin black cat if she is afraid of her reflection in the mirror?

Thanks for the sage advice :)

Pretty! I would give her a little time before bringing another cat in. Usually younger and opposite gender work better, but I've got a mix of various ages and genders and everyone eventually settles in.

I don't know, fatcat's advice seems sensible.
But omg she's so cute! Aww!

Thank you fatcat! I just worry that she's lonely, and being the doting crazy lady I am, I just want to do everything I can to make her the happiest cat in town!

as someone who is always afraid that her cats get snatched from the street one day: Are you absolutely sure she was abandoned?

Jerusha, as sure as we can be! Our friends found her scared and sleeping outside their door in Hollywood. They took her to a vet, had her chip scanned and it had never been registered. They then called the clinic that put the chip in and told them they had the cat. The clinic had no info for the people who had originally brought her in. They also put signs up all around their neighborhood for over a week before rehoming her. Sounds like kitty abandonment to me!
