So Mora is not pooping and hardly using her litter box. We keep it on the landing leading to the basement and lately we haven't had a door on the basement. My partner has been doing wood work and making lots of sawdust and letting it sit on the floor. We use feline pine. (You see where this is going). So for the past few weeks she has been taking it upon herself to use the new "litter pile" in the basement rather than her box. Well we put a door on the basement and now she won't use her litter box. Stubborn tortie.. Any ideas? She has only peed in the past few days... :/

I'd first double check around your house to make sure she isn't going anywhere else (I thought my cat had stopped peeing one day, but then found a messed towel in the corner of a closest), other than that my only advice is maybe try mixing a little of the pine sawdust in with her litter, just so it has the smell of it, and see if that encourages her to use it again.
