Caligula is Moopers as he's a fat black cat that cannot "meow", only "moop". Grimalkin is Grim for short.

My dog's name is Merlin. His only nicknames are Squirrelin, Merlbird, Buster, Sausage Mahoney and Cynthia - but that's only when he is being bad; he hates that name is will get all skiddish if we start calling him that.

Possibly because they are both named after indie rock musicians, several of our animals' nicknames are weird or bastardized pop culture references. Dulli, 2-year-old Boston Terrier: GrumGrumbellor (because he grumbles like an unhappy teenager when he's sleeping and you accidentally nudge him awake) Dullard DuilliardDullski Mush Man Baby Man Small Face/Smalls Handsome Fellow Little One/Tiny One/Tiny Goodear (like Goodyear, except with huge and excellent ears) Bat Dog Snausage Favorite Perfect (every day when I come home from work, I greet him with, "hello, perfect!" I really, really love my dog) Aidan, 10-year-old Norwegian Forest Cat/Maine Coon: Aidlai Stevenson (I call him this more than I call him by his name) Steven AidlerJuan Fuzzman (pronounced foozmin) Tawny Kitaen, because he is that color, which morphed into Tawnzel Washington, which then inexplicably became Tawnz-a-Million! Kitten-ten Forest Kitten Weegie Weegelz Fuzzy Lump/F'Lump Furpaws/Furtoes/Furfoot Furbag Furminator/Aidanator Attackat The Bite 'n' Scratch Factory (because he is one) Pictured here.

My dog's name is Cheeta, but we call her Chichi, because growing up me and my brother were called 'Chachi' and 'Cuchi' as nicknames, so the dog matches us!

Kaylee's ballad only has one stanza so far, which goes "Kaylee the pirate cat / rode in a car all wild and free / without a box, without a box / in a red car to Graz rode she" - which sounds more dangerous than the reality behind it (she was asleep draped across my shoulders all of the time). I still have to compose a second stanza about her defeating and eating Lovecraft's At the Mountains of Madness (and my favourite edition, too).

Penny is my 2 1/2 your old muttigree (German Shepherd, Am Staff, Boxer Mix)
Penny Lane Penny Pasta (my mom's) La Perrita Pennita Baby Girl Chiquitita Piddle Scooter (when she had poop problems-all better now)
We have two other dogs, Carmela (mini doxie) and Chloe (doxie-beagle mix). I forget how old they are since they aren't "mine". I think Mel is 3 and Chloe is 5 or 6. We just rhyme them, Mella Smella and Chloe Bowie.

Oh, I almost forgot. I've started calling Kaylee "little dragon". Young kittens and dragons have so much in common.

my cat Toby: 'Brutus' or sometimes 'The Dark Knight' (he is a big tomcat with jet black fur all over. Bit of a strong silent type too.)
my other cat Lily: 'Lilychops' or 'Mrs.' I don't know why the last one, it just seems to suit her. She's a little rascal.

Bella: Bella-baby, pretty girl, fat-cat, sweetie
Luna: Itty bitty pretty kitty, weirdo, kitten (she's SO small and she's fully grown)
Frank was: Frank-a-bun, Franquistador (no idea why, it just fit him, and you had to say it with an accent! Rhymes with conquistador)
I'm sure there are more random names I call them but that's what comes to mind at the moment.
