This week, we rescued a sweet, little male Beagle during a snow storm in our area. He was wandering out in the middle of the road, during blizzard-like conditions. Seems as if he was dumped. After having rescued animals for a time, it is not so hard to tell what their story is. Anywho, he is all cleaned up, wormed, going to be updated on shots and hopefully neutered soon. We are looking for a lovely home for him. Would any of you PPK'ers be interested? We live in MD and are willing to travel to get him to the right home. We used to transport for a number of rescues, so we are used to traveling. He has a very sweet demeanor and is house trained. He loves people, other dogs and cats. We would keep him, but we already have 4 large dogs, 1 dog that we puppysit so regularly that she feels like another pet (incidentally, she is coming to stay with us for a week starting tomorrow, bringing the dog total to 6), 2 cats, 3 kids and just lost a big source of our income. My son's girlfriend named him Paul. Here is a pic of his sweet, little face

Aww, what a sweetie. You might want to contact BREW and Beagle Rescue of Southern Maryland to ask for assistance. I know they are often full with Beagles but they might be able to assist with placement. http://www.beaglemaryland.orghttp://www.brewbeagles.org/site/And if you happen to need help with transport, I live off 270 and go to Virginia fairly often and can help transport wherever along 495 and/or Virginia.

Thanks guys! linanil- Thanks for the links! I sent emails to both rescues and a pic. Also, thanks for offering to help with transport! We may take you up on that, if we don't have any work down that way and a forever home is found for him in that area.

Thank you for looking out for him. He looks wonderful and I hope he finds a good home. To leave him out in a blizzard like that defenseless. What the hell is wrong with people? Bless you! <3 <3 <3

Thanks again for your kind comments and support, guys! Paul went to his new forever home today. My oldest son's girlfriend took him to live at her house. She has a female Beagle mix and as of right now, they are getting along awkwardly. Hehehe...he needs to work on his finessing skills. I love it when dogs first meet and awkwardly attempt to solicit play time from one another. Fingers crossed that all works out well!

What a great story! You're awesome for taking him in and getting him a great forever home!
And I hope karma bites the people who dumped him in the asparagus really hard.

Now we have three dogs and three cats and it's so quiet.

We have been there before, with up to nine dogs at a time when we were in the height of taking in rescues, but we swore we would never go there again while the kids are young. I can't even imagine that menagerie with 5 cats. Those fickle mustards can change personality at the drop of a hat. At least my 2 cats do...
