I will be in Albuquerque, and surrounding areas, later this week through the early part of next week. I'd like to manage a day trip to Sante Fe in there somewhere, but it might not be possible (visiting family). Does anyone have any recommendations (restaurants, sightseeing, etc.)?

I'd love to find some vegan donuts and/or milkshakes, since Atlanta is sadly lacking in these kinds of treats.

I can't say anything about donuts/milkshakes but..

I love NM, mostly ABQ. The last time I went though, I think I was leaning towards vegetarianism and we have some ppkers that live there. One of my favorite restaurants there was Church Street Cafe and they do look to have some vegan items. El Pinto was another favorite and they also look to have some vegan items. Also, be aware that things close early. I like walking around cities in the evening but was disappointed when shops were closing at 5 or 6.

Halfway between ABQ and Santa Fe is Tent Rocks, a fun place to hike. We went when it was hot but because you are shaded by the rocks it is a bit cool. I'm not sure if it has been affected by the fires this year but Bandelier National Park in Los Alamos is fun. It isn't that far from Santa Fe.

Thanks, Linanil! I found vegan donuts and milkshakes! I posted more information about my Albuquerque visit in the Wild, Wild West forum.
