Hi. I'm trying to find a venue in Northern NJ (might even consider central or south at this point)... that allows outside caterers. We're going to have a vegan wedding, and ever place I've called so far has said that you have to use their caterer. One place said they dont' have a vegan menu, but they can "create" one for us... I'm very weary of that. I'd rather find a place and have it caterered.

If anyone can provide some insight/experience/places, I would appreciate it. This is the first stop in the wedding planning process and it's already overwhelming.

Thank you!

Ps: We're not looking for a "typical" wedding venue... it could be a garden, somewhere outdoors, a hall... etc.

I don't know too much about this place, but it's where I had my bat mitzvah, and we brought in a kosher caterer, so I know they allow outside caterers. http://www.ridgewoodwomansclub.com/weddings.htm From the FAQ, it looks like they've got a list of preferred caterers, but will allow others if they fill out all the forms.

Do you know which caterer you're using yet? You could ask them where they've been able to work in the past.

There are definitely some amazing locations. Where in NJ are you? What are you looking for?

The Women's Club in Glen Ridge def lets you pick your caterer: http://www.womensclubglenridge.com/rent ... ation.html
I also think the Olde Mill lets you bring in your caterer: http://www.weddingwire.com/biz/olde-mil ... 949cb.html

Good luck!

My wedding was at Englewood Women's club:

We had a small affair, ~65 guests with an outside ceremony.
Outside caterers were welcome there.

hope this helps, best of luck!

My wedding was at the Oakeside Mansion in Bloomfield NJ. They are run by their own caterers but I *believe* you might be able to bring in your own caterers. It wouldn't hurt to call and ask.
I'll say it's an awesome place to have a wedding. Its right next to the parkway so it makes it easier for people to get there.
