I'm going to be in Denmark and Finland this spring so I can larp my asparagus off at Fastaval and Solmukohta. Specifically I'll be in Copenhagen and Aarhus in Denmark, and Helsinki in Finland. Tell me, my Nordic friends, will I die of starvation? Or is there vegan fare to be had?

Aarhus has a very cute, mostly raw vegan cafe called Gaia on one of the small streets downtown. There's a gorgeous outdoor market on Wednesday and Saturday mornings on Ingerslevs Blvd (8 or 9-2, I think).

in helsinki you can eat burgers at vegemesta. they're okay. there's another place called zucchini which has lunch from monday to friday. it's vegan upon request. i was there only once, it was pretty good. that's pretty much it.. some of the "hakans kok" (or something like that) products in supermarkets are vegan - they have frozen veggie sausages, "meat" balls, falafel and stuff like that..
falafel is terrible and overpriced in finland.

I live in Aarhus and would love to meet up with you, if you have time!
The farmers' market at Ingerslevtorv is great, as lutin said. Also, there's a raw cafe behind the Voxhall concerthall, though I can't remember the name of it. Sadly, my favorite Thai place just closed and has reopened with a "new concept" and new owners, so I don't know yet how veg friendly it is.
Oh yes, and if you go to the Schweizer Bageriet, you can buy many kinds of vegan bread, plus soy yogurt and juices from the drink cabinet. It's quite near the farmer's market and there is a Føtex supermarket just across the street too. The supermarket has a salad bar (though I think it's quite expensive) and sells vegan hummus (you have to watch out, because some people here put yogurt in) in the deli also.

I go to Aarhus once or twice a year! Next time, let's try to meet up!

falafel is terrible and overpriced in finland. You mean Hälsans Kök. I find Findus falafel to be way better (they're vegan). I haven't been in Helsinki in forever but being vegan there shouldn't be a problem (Finns tend to be lactose intolerant too so there's plenty of milk free alternatives. Maidoton is Finnish for milk free and vegan is vegaani), I've seen Swedish bloggers eat pretty well there. There's even vegan doughnuts. According to the link you won't actually be in Helsinki but in a small town about 25 miles away so you might want to warn them that you're vegan... but no, you most likely won't starve. Copenhagen has awesome vegan food (there's a thread somewhere in the square) and apparently Aarhus too (I haven't been there). Be prepared for everything to be expensive, though.

I'm leaving for Copenhagen tomorrow!!!
Sorry for neglecting this thread. I've been moving and preparing for the trip all at the same time. And I'm going a little crazy.
