Or, should I say, central Europe?
So, I wasn't really active on the old boards with my fellow Europeans. I'd like to change that! At the moment (and for the next year at least) I'm down in Heidelberg and was wondering if there's anyone around. I know there are some other Germans on here!
Yeah. Maybe we can discuss potential meetups here?

I was thinking to start a thread like this myself, but you beat me to it.

Perhaps that when meetups are planned, they should or can have their own dedicated threads?

For now "in the works"

- The Hague (Netherlands) possible meet up in feb/march 2011
- Bremen / Hamburg "North Germany" meetup perhaps spring 2011

- Paris Vegan day in France http://www.parisveganday.fr/ nov. 28th

Does the UK count as Europe now that we have a hideous Conservative government who would yank us out if possible? Tell me more about these potential meet-ups, Eric! Also, follow Anek*'s lead and get interested in coming to Scotland next year to hunt for Nessie.

*or perhaps 'the artist formally know as', dependant on whether she's keeping her username or not!

I assume there will still be a separate United Kingdom thread.

I didn't read about the hunt for nessie (is that even vegan? ;) )

I just assume that the UK thread will live on on it's own because there are a lot of U.K based people on the PPK.

Oh, and cause Europe is big: There is a Brighton (England) meetup on oct. 23rd.

Yeah, the UK thread's got you all covered, but we are more than happy to take refugees from places with crappy governments! But really, Euro thread is for stuff going on in all of Europe, including UK!

And The Hague and northern Germany sound like good destinations and I've not been to either, so it would make a nice adventure.

Paris Vegan Day sounds so great, and it wouldn't take me that long to get there, but I will be doing my part by hosting vegan Thanksgiving in my apartment. My first time hosting something like this!

Oh, we really have to meet in Northern Germany! Bremen AND Hamburg are both nice.... or we could meet at some beach?

I'm here and I am desperate for a Northern Germany meet-up. Jerusha, a beach would be a bit cold in early 2011, I think. But maybe I am just extra sensitive to cold...

My best friend lives in Hamburg and really wants me to come visit. I guess there's some ice cream shop with fun vegan flavors? Of course, it's not open now.

I am so pumped that so many people wanna do a north germany meetup!
I'm wondering though - I'm leaving the country indefinitely at the end of January 2011 - Would you folks be down to do an earlier meetup in Hamburg/Bremen/Nordsee, like mid-january time?

Yes! While we wait for nice weather to go to Scotland (I think Nessie looks better surrounded by flowers), let's make Hamburg/Northern Germany! I've never been to the north since vegan, and one of my best friends lives in Hamburg and has been pestering (ahem, lovely asking) me to visit her.

Mid of January? Deal!

Also, I so want to go to Paris. Where are you guys staying?
