It seriously almost ruined my day. I hate my IBS, the flu going around the office and the crazy weather threatening to mess with my immune system! Hopefully next time we meet up, the weather will be more stable.

Eatsbabies, Emily's Desserts still has a kiosk in Towson Town Center...you should totally check it out! I heard about Emily's from an article in the city paper like 2 years ago but never checked it out. Are the treats any good?

Omg, Mush, they were amazing. I tried the cupcakes, the truffles (which are more like a cake-y filling, covered in different chocolate flavors), and the dipped pretzel rods; all in various flavors...and they were all so, so good. I seriously recommend trying them. I think she also dabbles in "party ware" and that sort of thing. Website: http://www.emilysdesserts.com/

!! There's a vegan pastry stand at the Baltimore Farmer's Market this year (or at least they were there today, which was the first day of the season). http://www.dirtycarrots.com/I got three things and they were all delicious and reasonably priced.

Dirty carrots is going to be at vegfest! So is Emily's Desserts. Is that the market on Sundays near the harbor?

Oh, I wish I could go! Darn working weekends!
So, for my 25th, we ordered a cake from Brunie's Bakery. OMG, so amazing grasshopper cake! It was expensive but worth it for my 25th. My non-veg sister had a slice and couldn't stop raving about it on Facebook! (She's a foodie.)
We went to One World Cafe. I got a Philly Steakless, my dad and mom got tuna (mom put up a fuss that there "wasn't many options." What b.s., though I love her), sis got mac and cheese & boyfriend got some Tuscan dish. I can't get them off the cheese! They also got to see a Whole Foods for the first time, since we stopped there quick.
Next time they want to see the harbor, since we ran out, so I think I'll take them to Liquid Earth. Mwah hahah. lol.
I am really going to miss Bmore for the next month. I will be gone every weekend! So sad!

Brunie's did our wedding cake (actually, we had 2--Springtime Divine and a Chocolate Strawberry Ganache). SO freaking amazing. For our anniversary, she gave us a free mini cake--Chocolate Peanut Butter Awesome. It lived up to its name!

News, it sounds like you had a pretty good time on your birthday! I know omnis are generally obsessed with cheese, but at least you got the family to try something different, right? I think it would be fun to take them to a different veg place every time they come to visit!
I've actually never had anything from Brunie's; it's a sin, I know, and must be remedied immediately! My husband and I had our wedding cake made by Nicole Goode/So Goode 4 You Vegan Bakery (she's located in downtown Baltimore, although I can't remember what street). The cake itself was amazing, although the decoration left a bit to be desired. But who knows, maybe she's gotten better with time (this was in 2008).

The Brunie's Bakery treats look amazing, but I've never been able to get them to respond to me. I wanted a cake for my birthday last year, and I sent a couple of emails that bounced back and called and left a message that was never returned. So I thought maybe they'd closed. Then I heard that wasn't the case, so I used a different email from the Facebook page -- still no answer. Decided that she clearly doesn't want to sell to me, and gave up. :(

Aww, akasha. It was a great cake. I haven't contacted her since April, though. I will have to find my business card and send the email. Tell me more about this Artscape ... I haven't been in Bmore in awhile. I have been too busy traveling and to drive an hour to and an hour back on my day off .. right now I just want to sit on my butt and do nada.

We haven't had a meet up or anything in forever. B-more vegan PPK meetup in early 2012? Yes? Yes!

Lost City is thumbs up. The vegan shakes alone are worth checking it out.

Hi, B-more people. I just came across this thread and wanted to introduce myself. I'm also from Baltimore. My name's Collette and I've been vegan for 16 years. Raising my kids vegan, too. I'm a solid cook and a pretty amazing baker. Currently introducing more raw food into our diets.

Welcome to the PPK! It's been a while since we last had a Baltimore meetup, but in the past we've met up for lunch on occasion.

Welcome! I live about an hour away, closer to DC. I may be moving to Baltimore in the summer though.
