We're currently looking to fill a gap in our apartment and maybe you can be the one to fill it!
We keep pretty erratic hours and love all manner of pop culture and nerdiness - music of the independent persuasion, books, etc. We're complete foodies and love cooking and have a cabinet completely loaded down with loose teas of all kinds. The apartment is shared by a very small faction of cats who keep to themselves (and we keep them clean to avoid the house smelling LIKE them) and have the good sense to not chew on any of our records or books, so we doubt they'll be messing with you or your stuff either! :)
Ideally, we'd like someone who follows a vegan/green lifestyle - we're really big on non-toxic based chemical cleaning agents and things without cheese - maybe you're into that too? If you keep fairly bizarre hours (say, up at noon and in bed by four in the morning), that would mesh pretty well also. Creative types are heavily encouraged to respond - writers, artists, musicians, etc - we have one half of the building's garage rented out each month so a space for larger projects is available at all times! A huge deal breaker is drinking however. We've had our share in the past of roomies who hit the bottle a bit too hard and it'd be nice if we were in a place free of discussion on alcohol for awhile! In a perfect world, you may have similar interests and tastes but for now, we'll just settle for you not pushing your favorite band on us as long as one of us doesn't push one of our favorite bands on you - basically snobbiness is discouraged. Please be considerate and clean and willing to ask before using stuff that isn't your's and by and large, the same respect will be dolled out to you! If there are conflicts, be ready to talk them out (space of course is respected, but letting days and days of silent treatment occur is a no go!) and avoid passive aggressiveness. Home is home, not a war zone or extension of any other area of conflict (job, social circle, etc).
The apartment is located a few blocks west of Western Avenue along North Avenue, we're about a ten minute walk from the six points in the heart of Wicker Park. Ukrainian Village and Logan Square are equally as far by walking to the south and north. We're not really all that concerned about whether you're male, female, straight, gay, yellow, blue, orange or a martian - just be a great person with some stuff in common and a desire to live in a home as opposed to a simple rent splitting situation!
Hope to hear from you soon!
