We'll have to go undercover. There's just no other way.

Dress up as hams! No one will ever guess- you'll blend right in! Pics pls.

Or as actual hamburgers. Dr. Horrible could be the patty and I could be the bun. (LOLOLOL.)

For Everything: I'll make a picture of myself and post it this weekend so you can easily spot me.

For Bun, Dr.Horrible and Pickledtreats:

I don't know when your trains arrive exactly and I'm not fully familiar with that train station, so I suggest we meet in the glass (pedestrian) bridge that connects the train platforms and leads to the main entrance of the station.

It's easy to spot and there is a coffee stand thing as well (as far as I know).
I aim to arrive 10:45-11:00 at that coffee stand and then wait till every one is there. If your train is delayed for what ever reason we'll wait till every one is there.

"can not miss it" pedestrian bridge : http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bestand:St ... -spoor.JPG

coffee stand thing, apparently near tracks 3+4 http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-2057813 ... ch-in.html

I will think about it, but i think that for the people who sleep in the hostel, it would be the most convienent to meet up there?

I - we hope to arrive at like 6 pm, dump our stuff in the room, then meet you and charandala and possibly others, then go out to eat something in town?

*note to self:
- check out parking space.
- look into public transport in Hamburg.
- print adresses of food options in Hamburg.
- mail reservation details to charandala

That sounds like a plan.

I just spoke to Marijke and she agreed to meeting us in front of Lush after 6. Our hostel is a 12-minute walk from the train station where Lush is located. So! I suggest we all go to Lush at 6 and then she takes us to her favorite restaurant!

jerusha, where did you want to go for brunch on Saturday? Miller's? Maybe we can set a time and place soon so that everyone knows where to go on Saturday, especially those not in the Dutch car...

I think the plan is to meet up at the hostel, or at least we dump our stuff and the car at the hostel, then meet with Everything at the hostel, then walk to Lush?

We should also exchange phone numbers just incase we can't find each other?

Wait, maybe we need to clearify who's coming and when!

On Friday:
- Everything
- Veg_Eric
- Pickledtreats
- Dr Horrible
- My awesome omni friend!
- Bun
- Marijke

Am I missing anyone? Everything, would you like to meet us at Lush or at the hostel?

Saturday:
- mi.au
- jerusha

Shall we meet up in front of the hostel or somewhere else? :)

Hmmm... I vote for somewhere else as your hostel is so much out of the way, but on the other hand the parking space might be better for miau and others travelling by car...

I'm not sure if I will come by car or train. Either way, I think it's smart to meet where we want to have brunch. I know that Miller's in St. Pauli (near Reeperbahn) has vegan breakfast options. We could also meet somewhere easy to locate, as in: in front of the Rathaus.

Meeting a Millers seems like a good idea to me, what time would you suggest?

Parking seems a bit limited near the hostel, though there are two parking garages at 10-15 min. walking distance.
If Hamburg is like "all other big cities" then parking can be problematic and you're probably best of coming by train?

Ok, let's meet in Miller's at 12... hows that? Too late? Too early? we are how many - should I reserve a table? they open at 10, so earlier would be ok.

It depends on where I am at the time, but I don't really mind either way. Just text or call me when you guys are in town and we can figure it out. Lush and the hostel are only about 5 minutes away from each other.

Also, I agree that earlier brunch on Saturday would be good! :)

What are we thinking in terms of transportation? Group day tickets for the S-Bahn or should we do that individually?

Oh fork, I forgot we'll be travelling within the city. Not too excited about that.

Also: what shall we do on Saturday? Are there any good museums or churches (right, Munich meet-up people?!) that we can visit?

as I said, Miller opens at 10 - lets say 10 at Millers?

What to see... def. the harbour, the group ticket is valid for the ferries too so we should take the ferry a bit. then, St. Michael (Michel)? SChanzenviertel?

I've been looking at that and I think that it might be best to buy Ganztageskarte.
http://www.hvv.de/fahrkarten/tageskarte ... ageskarte/
1-2 rings € 6,80 (but I don't know how big those zones are, I assume it willcover city center)
3 rings for € 10,80

The 9 hour pass is cheaper, but only for 9 hours. Which means that if you start at 10 am, it only lasts till 7 pm.

You can't get group Ganztageskarte (I think?) and Tourist groups cards have to be bought at least two weeks in advance. (so we're too late for that)

We will probably be strolling around town for a bit, so it could be smart to come with comfortable walking shoes.

You're right, this seems valid all day and do I understand it correctly that it's € 9,60 for five persons?

yeah, I think Großbereich (thats 9,60) should be enough. That covers most of the interesting parts of Hamburg. and yep, its for 5 people. I can have one person travelling on my card, too.

I would really like to see a church, the Rathaus and maybe the botanic gardens. Also I'm quite curious about the Reeperbahn! Maybe we could go there on Saturday night after dinner? ;)
Edit: I also need to get some of my usual stuff at a DM!
