I had brunch at Quiet Storm last weekend with my mom (hooray Mother's Day), and it was ridiculously tasty. She had vegetarian food (I think she's transitioning, she's apparently eating a lot less meat than before), some sort of cheese grits and eggs and kale and stuff, and I had their hangover hash with scrambled tofu and gravy and kale and toast and stuff. The scrambled tofu was a little dry, but everything was pretty good. Especially with the gravy.

REviving this thread! Does anyone know of a good thai or vietnamese place in Pittsburgh? ALSO- has anyone been to the Square Cafe?

Tram's Kitchen on Penn Ave. in Bloomfield is good for vietnamese. The interior of the place is pretty bare bones, and I think that scares people off.The positive side is that you never wait for a seat. I like the tofu with lemongrass, and the fresh spring rolls.

Thai Cuisine, also in Bloomfield,is great. It's on Liberty Ave. The waiters are vegan friendly and attentive, plus they have a vegetarian menu in addition to the regular one. The red bean curry with mock duck is one of my favorites, also the spicy basil noodles...oh,and the tom yum soup.

I've never heard of Square Cafe.
There's a new place opening soon...Eat To Live holistic cafe. Also in Bloomfield,on Liberty. I'm unnaturally excited about it, and I hope it's all vegan!:)

Hi All,
I'm in Pittsburgh, I live right down the road from the Loving Hut in Robinson.
I'm always looking for new yummy places to eat and cool people to hang out with.

Are there any good bars/restaurants with vegan options near PNC? I'll be there in a few weeks with friends and family (and as usual the only vegan!).

None that I know of right near PNC. The Zenith is about 10-15 minutes away, on the other side of the river in the South Side. Aside from that, I can't think of any that are close to town. I work right near PNC park. There are indian places across the Clementi Bridge on 6th avenue and you could find something there.
