I know we could probably taxi it and probably will for the first day as I don't think we'll have a car but if you were staying in West Hollywood and wanted a good fulfilling lunch after a long plane ride, where would you go? :)

I looked at the location and closest place is Veggie Grill, which I don't like and then I saw Evo kitchen. This will also be Monday, which I know is a day some restaurants close.

Also, looks like we are close to a mall, Sunset plaza. I'm thinking the next day we will go to Crossroads as we should have a car, I just have to make it down to San Diego sometime :)

(Oh and I looked at our flight time and Crossroads location/time, they close at 2 for brunch so doubt we'd get there in time, our plane lands at 11:45 and by the time we get our luggage, check into hotel, etc, so looking for a place that would be open around 2pm)

I think we decided to get takeout from real food daily, which we've never tried

I'm looking forward to it, we decided to stay the second day in Hollywood so will go to crossroads and have to figure out one more restaurant. We were thinking of going to the tarpits and go for a small hike if the weather cooperates.

I really like RFD, and Crossroads is fabulous. I recently posted some pictures in the food porn forum from a meal my husband and I recently ate there.

For a third restaurant, there's a really good vegan Thai place in West Hollywood called Araya's Place. Here's their yelp page. Santa Monica (close to Venice) has another great vegan Thai restuarant, Satdha.

I remember you liked Gracias Madre a lot, and I hear they have a good brunch. Toca Madera is a new Mexican spot in West Hollwood, omni but with substantial vegan menus for both dinner and brunch, though I haven't tried it yet.

If you're looking further east, there's M. Cafe de Chaya on Melrose, a macrobiotic deli type place, not vegan but with a lot of vegan options. Or the all-vegan Shojin downtown (a bit on the expensive side IMO), or Cafe Gratitude, or Ramen Hood, an all-vegan ramen restaurant in Grand Central Market (I've eaten at the others but not at Ramen Hood -- it's too new). I've heard good things about The Springs (downtown too), but haven't tried it yet either.

If you want to perhaps spot a celebrity, Moby has opened a new vegan restaurant in Silver Lake, Little Pine, and is said to spend time there.

I just remembered another vegan spot in Hollywood that I forgot to mention, Chavela. It's a relatively new vegan restaurant with a Peruvian / Latin American influence to the cuisine. It's another one that I haven't tried yet but it seems well rated. LA has too many vegan restaurants to keep up with!

Our time clock is off and we woke up early and hungry so we went to Hugo's which was walking distance and open early. It was good

We've had a great time. We climbed Mt Hollywood yesterday and went to Crossroads for dinner last night. We had breakfast at Cafe Gratitude which was excellent. We are on our way out though. I was glad we were able to come and stay for a couple of days though.
