there are a few newer vegan-friendly restaurants so i wanted to update this thread!

the daily kitchen & bar – we have yet to eat here, but they have something like 20 vegan or can-be-made vegan options on their menu, and all but two sides are vegan. superw00t! 2934 w. cary street, rva 23221

green leaf vegetarian restaurant - asian eats & almost everything on the menu (i believe it's just 1-2 desserts) is vegan. they'll even hook you up with a thai iced tea made vegan. asian eats and oh-so awesome, too! 8900 w. broad street, suite a, rva 23294

the mill on macarthur - american-style eats, tons of vegan options (their cheesesteak can be made vegan, peeps!) and they always have something vegan for a special as well. never had a bad meal here and they're very kid-friendly here as well. 4023 macarthur avenue rva 23227

phoenix garden vegetarian restaurant vietnamese eats and everything here is vegan except the honey they bring to the table if you order hot tea. best pho i've had in all my life. amazing. 7103 brook road rva 23227

Any idea if those are near Short Pump?

I haven't been to Richmond in a while, but it's actually more convenient that going to DC from here just because the traffic is often a bit better.

It looks like Green Leaf is a few miles down W Broad from Short Pump Town Center.

bumping this thread up because it's summer and who doesn't want gelato? this shop is in the west end, but it's right next door to a good foods, so it's worth the trip. their flavors change every day but they usually have at least a dozen dairy-free flavors. today when i checked they had twenty. it's insane. i can't handle all the choices, seriously.

also in the same area are estilo and toast, two fairly new sister restaurants. they both have tons of clearly-labeled vegan options (and separate gluten-free menus, too, if that's your thing.)

postbellum in carytown is also new, and they have an entirely separate vegan menu. i haven't eat there yet, but their brunch is supposed to be amazing.
