I will be in Red Bank on Sunday (to see the Furs and Go-Go's) and will likely only have time for one meal. Should it be Good Karma or Cinnamon snail (is the farmers market easy to find?)?

thanks

Good Karma is closed on Sundays. The Farmers Market is at the Galleria which is easy to find with Google maps. Mmmm I haven't been in a while. Just fyi, the lines are long so try and get there early if you can!

Per their facebook page..Starting this Sunday Gook Karma is Red Bank will be open 7 days a week. Their website does not yet reflect this wonderful news.

That is good news! I've always wished we could do Farmer's Market breakfast, then go down the shore and hang out for the day, and hit Good Karma for dinner on the way back for some sweet gyros or raw nachos!

The only problem with that is the 3 hours it will take you to drive home on a summer sunday when normally it would take you 1 hour.

We came, we ate cupcakes, we saw no one we knew, and we skedaddled. On the upside, our weeklong boarder (clown friend in town working on a show) a super non vegan, was pretty jazzed by the cupcakes.

ok, it's high time that south jersey has it's own thread. (it's so difficult to navigate this one as a s. jerseyan.)
so here. feel free to join us in discussing our sad few options. http://forum.theppk.com/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=27934

To be honest, this thread is pretty much not that userfriendly for all the NNJ options, and I think we'd be better off putting them in the NY thread - most stuff is close enough for the NYC PPKers to come out to anyway.

Have any of you been to the Hip Town Grill in Medford? Close to half of the menu is vegan, mainly faux meats. I'm spoiled by Native Foods and Veggie Grill at home, but it was nice to have a restaurant close by during our visit - my MIL lives at Medford Leas. Overall the menu could do with a few more veggies. But they had a white bean, fennel and escarole soup that was one of the best soups I've ever tasted. I thought it looked too strange to order, but my husband had it and I ended up stealing it from him!

This is interesting. I'm close enough to this place to go. But, something seems weird to me. I am wondering if they are affiliated with Hip City Veg in Philly or not. Their menu is way more expansive and not just vegan like HCV, but there are some items that are almost identical! And they are serving Banana Whips too. Hmmmm, I may have to take a trip and compare.

Yeah, maybe a weekend in August. My July is booked already and my husband has been working over time on Saturday's so with the one car and him not home it makes it hard for going out. But I normally go grocery shopping at Whole Foods in Marlton on Sunday's anyway. So I'm already up there!

Hey! There is a work party at For The Animals on August 25. I am having transportation issues (hence my spectacular fluffing of the last meetup) but since this thing is in town even my ridiculous problems should not be a barrier. Work party is 18+ and there is usually a potluck after. The last one I went to I had a GREAT time and the food was super duper. anyone else planning on going?

I ate at the So Tasty Vegan pop up (which runs every Wednesday) in Montclair last night and it was amazing! Sally is so talented. All 4 courses were so unique and delicious. Its perfect for a date. It happens at an Italian restaurant so if you go with a non vegan you can order the vegan prix fixe meal and your dining companion can order off the regular menu if they want. I saw a bunch of tables like that. Most of the tables though were all there to eat the vegan food!

if the farm sanctuary thing comes together in blairstown (that we talked about in the kiddie get together thread maybe?), there is a great apple-picking place that is nearby, so far they do not have any captive animals to ruin the experience. also if anyone comes up here there is a local farm that has amazing, amazing kale and other stuff (u-pick and bought) that i'd be happy to get for anyone who might want it. i'm eating a bowl of raw red russian for lunch and it's the best kale i've had here.
