Hi, PPK. My nearest & dearest farm sanctuary, Sunny Day Farms, is having a more difficult time than usual with operating costs due to the massive never-ending drought. We are all looking for ways to give them a hand, so I started a Crowdrise fundraiser leading up to the San Antonio Marathon in November. So far on the team, we have 2 vegans running the full & 1 running the half. If you have a few bucks to help save a wonderful place, please send them their way. Thanks! Team Sunny Day: http://www.crowdrise.com/sunnydaysarnr2011/Lazy Smurf blogged about our last visit here.

In running this are you registering for the San Antonio half and then just running as part of team Sunny Day? I am not sure what you mean by run alongside the San Antonio marathon? I was planning to do some fundraising for them with my new zine and I might possibly maybe try to make this my first half.

Yes, we are signed up for the marathon & are using the event as a fundraising opportunity. This will be my first & I hear it's a really fun run to do. Join us!
*I edited the wording in the first post to be a little more clear.

I have to figure out if I could be ready for a half by then. And look into the costs. I will fundraise for y'all regardless.

It debuts at Vida Vegan. $1 from each sold will go to Sunny Day. When I get back from there my etsy will re-open and I'll do the same with the zines sold there. Gotta up my run while on vacation.

We just passed the half way mark! I'm so grateful! Training is going better than expected as well.

I donated this morning. I am sad I can't participate. My training schedule is about a month behind.

That's ok. I wouldn't rush training and risk injury. I hope you are able to run one in the near future. Thanks for donating and helping spread the word.
