Do you play E major by making your index finger a bar across all the strings (I don't know technical terms for things) and then just using your pinky to press the A string? When I learned this way of playing it I now find it easy.
Yeah, it's bar (or "barre"). So uh, how do you keep from muting the string with your pinky on it?
Anyone have any easy fingering suggestions for both B and B minor? I can do them but it's clunky and sometimes I find I'm accidentally silencing a string here and there.
Bar with the index fingers and extra fingers as feel comfortable?

I had a uke lesson from a banjo player. ha! but he taught me chunking (chucking?) i don't know! the internet is pretty divided on the name, but anyway, i've been trying to teach myself for a while and it never really clicked, but i think it's finally starting to sink in!

another easy starter song is "elephant gun" by beirut. if you like beirut, that is...
and boober, i am a musician, but i also chose my uke because it was cute. we can't help having an artistic eye that appreciates not only the tone of an instrument, but it's appeal to the eye!! it think i posted a pic of mine on the other page of this thread...
